And the schedule comments aren't beating a dead horse? The seedings don't matter. Rankings don't matter. The only thing that matters is who can get out of their section(No team is guarunteed of this) and then WIN 3 AT THE X.

Now
THAT I agree with!

The moderators here must be Roseau fans. They deleted my thread where I clearly proved that Roseau wasn't the #1 team.

Minnetonka...what? Nice Lake, bad road system, Maynard's, nice win over Edina...?
#3 Seed, if they make it...

IMO
The seeding will make a big difference between the #1 & #2.
Hypothetically now, let's pretend the following teams all make it to State, and then pretend they get seeded as follows:
#1 Roseau #2 Edina #3 Minnetonka #4 ?... interchange the top three however you like...
Let's say all four top seeds win in the quarters, no disrespect to the #4 seed, but I consider Roseau, Edina & Minnetonka the best teams at this point, and if they all make State will be the 1, 2, 3 seeds...
The #1 seed, whomever that is will not have to face #2 or #3 in Semis, #2 or #3 would have to beat two very good teams, Say Edina (#2) beating Tonka (#3), then Roseau (#1) in the Championship, making it a very tough road to the title.
As they say, "you have to beat the best to be the best", but I would still rather play #5 thru #8, #4 and then #2 or #3 in the final game of the season.
Good luck to those who have to rank these squads, it makes a difference this year...

Edina has more talent, but is too cocky. Edina has better forwards, but Roseau has better defense and goaltending. Defense wins the games.

Homonym boy,
seriously, you've been an embarrassment to the fine schools of Edina.
YOU ARE beating a dead horse. Contraction:
YOU'RE beating a dead horse.
These aren't typos or misspellings - you keep using the wrong words. PLEASE ask your teachers for help. Or you're teachers or whatever.

There have been some cocky comments from Edina supporters on here, I agree. What is it that makes you think the team is cocky?

I guess it is more the fans than the players. I cant honestly say i know a lot about the team, however i think there is a good chance that they will look past a team just like they did to Grand Rapids last year and get knocked out.

That is the problem. When Edina wins it's because they are the best. When Edina loses it's because they "looked past" somebody. GR is 3-2 all-time vs Edina in the state tournament.
Good teams don't "look past" anyone in March.

They're both great teams and have a lot of depth, but if they're so good then we will see them at the X, where everyone can see them. Honestly I hope neither of them are in the AA championship which I highly doubt. I think their are some underrated teams out there that could give them the run, and I hope it happens they've had there chance, just like what Herb Brooks said about the Soviets. I hope a team with about 5 or less apperances with no championship under the belt take away the trophy.

Agreed. Edina didn't lose to Grand Rapids because they "looked past" them. GR was just the better team on that night.

At least the AA peanut gallery's ship has sunk and we can get back to deciding green and white or green and white.

Man, I tell ya, that game last night between Burnsville & Edina was great!
Edina looked very good in the OT, and they are loaded! Wow, when they go on the powerplay, they have a whos who of D1 talent, very impressive.
I think Roseau has some very good talent also, but as a smaller town than Edina, the teams D1 talent is spread out in age from seniors down to freshmen, whereas Edinas is more juniors and seniors... Age of talent may be an edge to Edina - experience...
I would love to see these two play at the X, but there are many other good teams that could stand on their head for a game and eliminate either one w/ one late screened shot that deflects of a defenseman's skate... I've learned over the years to expect the unexpected...

Ah grindian, Edina has 9 championships.
SSP has a good record against Edina in the tournament too. Doesnt really mean much, believe me.
