Muck...I have been waiting for the right response on this blog and it has been extremely silent. Probably because these individuals are pulling slots this weekend.muckandgrind wrote:Ummmm.......Maple Grove is in District 3, not 10.Ugottobekiddingme wrote:Looks like someone has tripped over the land wire booby trap set by D10mg18 and Greybeard looking for approval. Before acknowledging mediocrity within the advanced 15 placement, someone should ask why 1/3 of the players are coming from D10 which includes Maple Grove players indirectly affiliated with D10 coaches. Which one of these guys were the "go to players" that gave their association a chance? Makes no difference to me...it's your dime.![]()
And to answer your question about District 10 players and who were the "go to players" within their association??? Only 1. Why? Because the rest didn't even PLAY association hockey last season, they played at the HS level.
With regards to the Maple Grove players...are you saying that Cammaretta and Gross are not "go to players", either?Cammaretta might just be the very best 95 in the state, and Gross one of the best defensemen.
I'm not as connected as you think I am.....From what I understand, the final evaluators for the roster that goes to New York is made up mostly of that team's coaching staff...with input from the coaches of each of the St. Cloud teams.Ugottobekiddingme wrote:Muck...I have been waiting for the right response on this blog and it has been extremely silent. You have brought up a great point...although I don't call out individual kids names (even at 15 - they are still kids) there is an equation to the advanced evaluation that can solve many people's questions.
Being that you are connected to players, coaches, and the workings within hockey, let's point out who are the evaluators of the advanced 15. Let's start with where they are from, how many years they have evaluated talent, and what district they represent. If we can use kids names surely we can identify the adult evaluators.
There is talent that has been selected, no question on that, looking more for the method that was used.
F14...you have just nose dived into the mountain and communication was lost. First, what does AAA hockey have to do with your message towards the adanced 15? Second, although "NICE" notes are great, what was used as a gauge towards "the best group of players" against previous tryout players? Lastly, who was this evaluator and what district does he reside in?....mocked.....sounds like a play on words.F14 wrote:I received this NICE email note the other day from One of the Directors of the Advanced 15 Festival. Please note, I was up in St. Cloud for 4 of the 6 days and MET him. I sent him a note AFTER the festival telling him what a great time my son had (he still raves about it)
For those people who have mocked the talent at this years festival, Here is his exact writing to me, my son isn't going on to NY, but had a great time.
"We have told these young men (95's) that they will go down as one our best group of players, both on and off the ice."
He has been an evaluator as well for 6-7 years he said.
AAA NOTE
There are so many posts about AAA hockey, I felt finally complelled to respond.
Please note that there are MANY kids who participated in ST. Cloud, WHO DO NOT play AAA hockey and some never have. AAA hockey is fine, but so are other trainings regimens.
To make people feel like AAA hockey is "one of the main reasons" why these kids made it to ST. Cloud or to NY is a HUGE disservice in my opinion.
My son never played any AAA but I'm sure he would have enjoyed it. He plays other sports competitively (as do tons of players) and does off-season work against older players and adults which has been a great challenge.
I'm still not following you. You're making an accusation and have no evidence to back it up. You're insinuating that the coaches were playing "favorites" when they picked the team, yet you don't even know who the coaches are? Doesn't that seem strange to you? If you know the names of the evaluators and the districts they reside, let's hear it. Otherwise, I think you should drop the accusations.Ugottobekiddingme wrote:F14...you have just nose dived into the mountain and communication was lost. Good for him. He seemed like a favorite going into the 102 camp. It was a bit of a surprise to see him as an alternate.mghockey18 wrote:Raskob got the call.

So how does that work if he was not a rostered player, but a alternate? Did someone drop out?
He is 5th in goals scored after 3 games. The Exiled One wrote:Good for him. He seemed like a favorite going into the 102 camp. It was a bit of a surprise to see him as an alternate.mghockey18 wrote:Raskob got the call.

Way to represent!! Thie, Fasching, and Voltin are leading the way up front, while Raskob is second in points amongst all defensemen at camp.
And I'll follow those stats up with... forget the stats! Word is, most MN players are looking DAMN GOOD!!
