No time to look it up today but wondering if Rapids has ever played at Elk River?

They must hate 218 in Elk River. CEC never plays in their arena either. Since 2009-2010 anyway.

We let Cloquet come down for a playoff about 5 years ago Knivvsy.

I was there for every playoff game too! Those were some great games for sure. I’m talking regular season games. I’ve been in the middle of CEChockey culture since 2009-2010, and we haven’t played a regular season game in your gym. It sure would be nice to start.

Micah Miller scores his first collegiate goal tonight. Not a high school story but the college forum is all but dead. Micah is a great kid and a great player. Kudos to him.

If this were the pre QRF days Tuesday's Flake v East game we would be bantering about the 2 seed. Elks, Rapids, and CEC if they beat Flake should all have the tiebreaker advantage over Flake. East might fall back into this mess shortly, welcome Hounds.

It makes no sense whatsoever that Forest Lake in any way should have some score that much higher than the teams within 5 spots below them. If they played Grand Rapids schedule they'd maybe have 2 wins on the year and get beat by 5-7 goals almost every game. But hurray for their impressive win against Park of Cottage Grove.

Those are 1AA type numbers
Only if Dodge County was moved to 7AA
Average PageStat:
7AA--17.27
1AA--16.05
I would have to check and see when (if) was the last time 1AA didn't have the worst Class AA PageStat average.
So, no, not "type numbers". Closer than it's been but still no cigar. Compare 1AA to 4AA and you have a better "argument".

Of course, if that is where it ended GR would play at FLake for the quarterfinal.
The T-hawks need to work hard throughout their games, kick at least one of the seniors in the rear (hustle every shift, stop mistaking cheap shots for being tough, and quit taking bonehead penalties), and stop the breakdowns. Win some of the more challenging games and this discussion goes away for them.

I would argue Forest Lake doesn’t belong above Cloquet or Elk River. They also lost to Grand Rapids at home. It’s more of a conversation about it being a gross inaccuracy for Forest Lake having any reason to be at home in the quarters than where GR should be. If you actually look at all of Forest Lakes results it makes no sense at all they are at 3. It wouldn’t make any sense if they were 4. Cloquet has done far more than FL to be at 3.

That’s why those coaches from the southern schools like the QRF so much.

Andover 1 and Duluth East 2 seed - these are no doubt. I want the 4 seed but I think Cloquet will end up in the 3 seed. 4 seed is tough. I do think having a home game in the QFinals is huge this year because there is so much parity in 7AA. Nobody is safe in this years section playoffs.....

DJ, The QRF will work itself out, Flake will end up a game either side of .500. CEC needs to win against them then ER and CEC will most likely be inside the tiebreaker. Rapids needs to win more games and the losses to class A teams hurt them. Need to model their schedule after East's. Without a AA conference to get wins in they need to make some road trips and I'm not talking to Virginia or Hibbing. Sucks not to play your neighbor's but that is the reality of being AA in the outstate.

I think it would be really cool to have Elk River in Cloquet for a quarterfinal matchup. Elk River has never played in Cloquet. It definitely would be a good test. Is that matchup possible? Maybe at the 3 vs. 6 or 4 vs. 5

1 Andover
2 Duluth East
3 Forest Lake
4 C-E-C
5 Elk River/Zimmerman
6 Duluth Marshall
7 Grand Rapids
8 St. Francis
9 Cambridge-Isanti
Based on today's QRF
Elk would go to CEC in the QF.

5 Elk River/Zimmerman
6 Duluth Marshall
7 Grand Rapids
8 St. Francis
9 Cambridge-Isanti
Based on today's QRF
Elk would go to CEC in the QF.
Andover 16-1-1; 7 left could lose 3 but will end up at 1
DEast 10-5-2; 8 left could lose 3 or 4 but will have to really try (not try) to not be #2
Forest Lake 9-7; 9 left could lose 4 of those - CEC could catch them - realistically should end at #4
CEC 8-9-0; 8 left may lose 4 but should do enough to get to 3.
Elk 7-10-0; 8 left probably lose 4 of those will not catch CEC and probably end in 5
Duluth Marshall 4-12-1; 9 left could lose 6 need to only lose 5 or will likely fall below GRapids.
Grand Rapids 5-14-0; 6 left could lose 5 of those, need to win some of those to get to #5 probably end up at #6
St Francis 5-10-0; 10 left likely lose 6 of those. nearly impossible to catch GRapids.
Cambridge 2-16-0; 8 left nothing they do will get them out of the 9 spot.
