StMA needs to win out to have a chance at #2, a chance. Winning out will give them #3.
Duluth East wins out they will be #2.
Grand Rapids should be #2 but losing to Denfeld or IFalls will drop them.
Cloquet wins out they will be #3.

Elk River is #1.
East's schedule is brutal, Rapids should be able to win out. As for the question of using QRF, no way. Didn't Bemidji beat Moorhead twice? QRF has the Spuds ahead of Bemidji?
Moorhead should give them a good game, especially since GR will be on the bus for a long drive.

QRF is wrong, but there are always people that say, 'hey its a computer gotta be right.'
I think Rapids could lose two of the next three given their inconsistency. That would not help them withnailing down that second seed in my opinion. Cloquet is going to be a scary team to play in the sections with the way they are playing lately. It will be interesting to see the outcome of the East Cloquet game!

Myself, I would rather not have to leave work early and travel for a week night game.

Who knows, it's getting down to crunch time though..
I doubt it. I assume Cloquet will beat STMA and East and the top 5 will be:

1. ER
2. GR
3. CEC
4. DE
5. STMA

Maybe STMA will lose another overtime game where East has to score a late 3rd period goal to send it to overtime. Who knows, but it will be fun!

If they win out, which means wins over East and STMA, they have shot at the 3 seed, maybe even a two seed. The 2-5 seedings are really going to be interesting if that happens. Since STMA lost to Breck their weak schedule is really going to hurt them come seeding time, Rapids can clinch #2 if they win out, but I think they'll lose to Moorhead. This is going to be fun to watch.
I agree that it should be fun to watch but I am not sure East or GR should be anymore worried than anyone else. I think ER has all the pressure on them to win the section. They have been the best team during the season so far. The rest of the section is pretty up and down. Just my two cents.

Well ER looks to be #1 for district 7AA. But who knows. So many times the voting has been so political for this GD district you can't even guess. Hopefully the politics go away and the coaches vote based on facts and not whatever the heck else they use. I wouldn't be surprised to see Grand Rapids come out with a Number #1. This is not a Knock against GR Its a knock against some of the knuckle heads who vote in this district. :x

The knuckleheads who vote are the coaches, right?

Yes the coaches vote. Some of the votes cast in the past are completely out of line. It seems as though the votes cast are based on popularity VS reality. Gotta shake your head sometimes.

They are looking at match ups I would think. Esse had ER at three last year, did he want to play them? CEC had ER beat until a late goal to tie it and a too many men penalty in OT led to an ER PP goal to win it. Smart like a fox. Lot's of gamesmanship involved. Maybe you use a computer model for a % of the vote and still have the human factor.

I pretty much always agree with you. You are probably right on this too. I think there is some popularity voting. Use a computer. Maybe that would help. One model on this forum has Elk River at 15th in the State. HMMMM
lets not use this one

Brian Bunten was on a breakaway and apparently got hooked and taken down with no call. Still tied.

East ties Elk River 1-1. This section is wide open.

If anything, this does help East in seeding discussions.

It helps but doesn't change Elk River being #1.

Even if East would've put that shot in the end it wouldn't have changed ER being seeded one.

ER is 1 but East has chance at 2 now if they can take care of business Monday

That's an interesting idea. How much weight would the coaches put on their losing 5-1 to Rapids?

If East wins out they would probably get number two. Any loss would take away that possibility.

Not an easy task with remaining schedule.

Hmm if they win out I think it would bring up some really interesting discussions at Toby's. But they haven't been able to put anything together as of yet. They lost to Anoka and tied Elk River. A step in the right direction yes but until they pick up a quality win it's all speculation. If people think Rapids and East are equally deserving of the number 2 then I would look at head to head match up, 5-1 Rapids.
