I think we can all agree that all the top teams have some fire power, i also agree that it is going to depend on whose defense/goalie really takes control of the games...every game should be a great match up which will equal a good tournament

What firepower some of the local girls teams could beat the 3A teams

If Sleepy Eye gets to state, I could only imagine them winning state

Good luck to all teams. Should be a great tournament.

I'd have to say that any of the top 5 teams could blow out your team flame and by the way you talk i would hope you're on one of the better girls teams

Haha! All you guys NOT from this section are hilarious! You guys can't make it through your own section so what's better than to come to what is considered the worst section and rip on all the teams to make yourselves feel better.

alright this is really a toss up, New Ulm almost lost to Fairmont, Marshall is too young and really only plays 2 lines, Willmar is not a smart team,Hutch cant score, Litchfield doesnt have good goaltending in fact none of these teams have consistently good goaltending.

isn't that the truth

I like New Ulm in this section. They've been breaking in a new goalie this year, which takes some time. They returned all their defensemen from last years section final team that knocked off West in the semi's.
When it get's down to the nitty gritty of it, that experience will make it hard for other teams to score on them. There is no stand out team in this section, so their defensive core will be the difference in the tight games.
I can't explain the recent close game with Fairmont, but in these do or die section games your defensemen have to have the composure to make good decisions. New Ulm has that over the other teams.

i found this post in another thread and thought it might be kind of fitting for our section..

"Just truly a great reason why rankings mean squat!

How good a team is through the regular season has no correlation on how the playoffs will follow.

A young team that takes their lumps during the season, but peaks at the right time, or the "hot shot" goalie that all of a sudden carries the team into the state tournament, injuries late, or injuries early that come back for the section play. All of these will bring upsets and leave fans pondering "What happened?"

LET THE PLAYOFFS BEGIN!!"

I don't know if you would really consider any team in our top 5 beating each other an upset at all...but you never know what is going to happen in play offs especially when all the teams are pretty evenly matched....it will be a great section tournament

Interesting on what this person thinks of the section. Don't agree with it as in who he thinks is going to be the winner, I think teams 1-5 could take this thing and NU will not walk through this section.
