Any scores from morning games today? I'm wondering if Brainerd was able to knock off OMG?

Edina lost yesterday to Woodbury and needed OT to get past Forest Lake. I assume they get out of pool play if they beat Mounds View and are done if they don't....is this correct?
They played well in the district when their backs were against the wall. I don't think teams can just keep going to that well. Gonna need to play better if they plan on getting through regions.

It's too bad Burnsville and Edina end up playing each other again. I'm picking Edina and Stillwater. Edina tends to find a way when they have to, but that Burnsville team is fast.

Too bad? Edina is very fortunate to be playing at all. Lost to Woodbury and then needed overtime to get past your team.
From a Burnsville perspective, it would be very unfortunate if they lose. They wouldn't have lost at the 'right' time. Playoffs are a little odd.
Should be another good game.

O-town, there's no winning is there? Pick on Edina and you're mad, praise them and you ridicule. The morning game was a faster skate than the evening game, for my team. For team speed, Edina and Burnsville can't be beat. I don't really believe that Stillwater will beat Woodbury, but it'd be nice to have a rep from D2.

Woodbury pulled their goalie then tied with 35 seconds. Stillwater took a cross checking penalty and woodbury capitalized on the game winning power play goal.
Stillwater played awesome but came up short.
Woodbury and Edina going to New Hope.

Mom, no ridicule at all. Sorry it the tone was lost. I typed a quick entry at bedtime in hopes of making this point:
When it comes to Minnesota Hockey's playoff system there is a lot of variance.
Burnsville
16-3 in league play, #1 seed
DISTRICT
Win 5-3 over Eastview
Win 5-3 over Chaska
Win 2-1 over Edina (District Champs)
REGION
Win 9-2 over Eagan
Win 5-0 over Stillwater
Win 11-3 over Inver Grove Heights
Loses to Edina, 6-5 in OT
6-1 playoff record, does not advance to state
Edina
17-2 in league play, #2 seed
DISTRICT
Loss 6-3 to Chaska
Win 4-1 over Prior Lake
Win 5-3 over Eden Prairie
Win 4-3 over Chaska
Loss 2-1 to Burnsville
REGION
Loss 5-2 to Woodbury
Win 4-3 over Forest Lake
Win 6-2 over Mounds View
Win over Burnsville, 6-5 in OT (Advance to state)
6-3 playoff record, moves on
I was thinking it was too bad for Burnsville if they lost (as you predicted!) and that Edina, which would have been 5-4 in the playoffs, could not make the same case. All depends on perspective.
Fred has made the point all year that the playoff road for District 6 teams could be difficult. While I agree with the sentiment, I also think that the teams that make it through are usually very worthy and probably the most deserving. The
www.mnhockeyrankings.com Pee Wee list has Wayzata #1 and Edina #2. As good as Chaska (won Roseau's tournament) and Burnsville (D6 champs) are, they aren't any better than Edina.
Much needed rest...it looks like two weeks off.
