For the top 3 seeds we could just take the goals scored by East, Rapids, and Elk River in their head to head match ups combined.

1. Grand Rapids - 9 goals
2. Elk River - 6 goals
3. Duluth East - 2 goals

:D

Or instead we could do by record against single A teams.

How about records against below average AA teams?

Or we could remember a 5-1 beating. How about games vs Wayzata and Andover. Or the fact that Duluth East is afraid to even play Marshall and Hermantown, those mean single A bullies.

I think whoever has gone to state the last six years should be ordered for seeding. I'll start with 2014 being 1, and then the 2013 being 2 etc...

1: Duluth East
2: Duluth East
3: Duluth East
4: Duluth East
5: Duluth East
6: Duluth East

 :P

It's over...
1 ER
2 GR
3 DEast
4 winner of StMA - CEC
6 FL
7 Andover
8 Cambridge
9 St Francis

I have Frannie at 9 even though they are peaking.

A QF matchup against Flake would be nice.

If Cloquet wins out, beats DE and STMA...I think they get the 3rd seed. But if Cloquet loses both, they are the 5th seed. I also think Andover should be seeded ahead of FL, as the 6th seed.

All the STMA fans got quiet. I haven't seen a suggestion for STMA being the #3 seed since I was mistaken for a Rosemount fan.

I agree with Elliott's seeding.

Forest Lake and Andover play this coming Tuesday, so that should resolve the 6/7 question pretty easily.

Not a lot to talk about with the schedule reading Chisago Lakes last Saturday and North Branch tomorrow. DE, GR and CEC are all finding another gear late in the season so we will find out if our boys can match that intensity. Can't wait to see CEC on 2/10. Win, lose or draw it's always nice to see how you stack up against the top teams in 7AA.

I think tonight's East at Cloquet game has major influence on the seedings meeting. Either team could end up 3rd, 4th or 5th seed when all is said and done. Will this game be streamed tonight?

I've never been to your arena. I'm looking forward to our road trip. :)

You won't be very impressed.. You will wonder how a youth association of our size plays out of just this 1 arena...

. Space Aliens across the street...Wille McCoys right down the road (2 for 1's all day) or a couple places right on Main Street Albertville... All serve food also..

I think the East-Cloquet tie tonight actually clears up any possible intrigue. Section record with Cambridge/St. Francis games excluded:

1. Elk River (4-0-1)
2. Grand Rapids (4-2)
3. Duluth East (2-1-3)

4/5 St. Michael Albertville (2-1)
4/5 Cloquet (1-2-2)
-Next Tuesday's game settles who gets home ice in this quarterfinal.

6/7 Forest Lake (1-4)
6/7 Andover (0-4-2)
-Tomorrow's game decides this one.

That's a good thought by an East fan... I still stand by that if STMA wins out and East continues dropping games that STMA will pull ahead of East (even with the early season OT road loss at East..maybe not in the minds of northern coaches at the meeting though).
Rapids should win out.. East could lose out

Only thing IMO is that ER is 1....

It did clear things up. DE just just earned a 4 seed. Not bad for a team that only won 4 section games!

I'm sure Rapids will work to avoid East in the Semis despite their 5-1 victory. gets a little tighter at Amsoil.

East has to get to Amsoil first... They could drop to 5 and lose.. But we all know the politics won't let that happen

Rumor is that Section 7 has coaches that are pushing for QRF fhor ceding.
that would give us the above (as of today).

That would seem to be inappropriate (at least from where I sit).
Maybe this isn't so crazy after all. It is on the Internet .. \:D/

STMA would need to beat Cloquet by 4+ goals to have any chance of a 3, and East would have to lose by large margins at Blaine and Lakeville South

Whether I agree or disagree with your logic there... It's all very possible...

See you can be reasonable...lol

STMA HAS to beat Cloquet to have any hope of being a 3 or 4 seed. If Cloquet beats STMA, they should get 4 seed and would solidify East at 3 since East did beat CEC in their first H2H.

If STMA loses to Cloquet, they will (and should) be 5th seed. Period.

If STMA really is on the rise and serious about being competitive, they need to strongly consider scheduling some tougher teams next year. That schedule is a joke.
