Not to rip on New Ulm or any team in this Section, they did not choose these Sections either, but no reason for any of the teams to make the State tournament. I understand everyone gets a chance and we look for the warm fuzzy underdog story, but this isn't fun to watch, and I'm sure neither team is enjoying this right now. Even Breck doesn't deserve this when preparing to win a title. I feel bad for everyone involved. MSHSL needs to look at this!
Funny, I don't see too many comments about Alex losing 7-1 to the #2 team, Rochester losing 9-0 against the #4 team, but New Ulm loses to the #1 team, and quite arguably the #1 team out of either class in the State, and people want to bash New Ulm and make fun of 3A teams. Wake up, this section has a little way to go, but looking at the scores from last night, so do some other sections!

NU deserves to be there far more than your team for not even being able to make it out of sections.

Good one golfer5.....those private schools keep taking from everybody and they wonder why the small schools can't compete with them....

This "terrible" section 3A did manage to get four players named to the all state honorable mention list. Congrats to those guys!
Adams - LDC
Fischer - NU
Campion - Marshall
Swenson - Hutch

I heard from a very reliable source that Redwoods best defencemen quit the team towards the end of the season due to some family issues. They also were dealing with a couple injured kids and trying to limp along with them to the end. The coach also moved some kids around from defence to forward and vis versa to try and balance things out. Bad move.
It all contributed to a crash and burn ending to a great year.
I think they were a better team then some of you are giving them credit for if they could have just kept it all together.

Teams always lose players due to injury, illness, quitting, or other issues. Losing one player should not have created such a downfall unless it was a key player like a goalie. No depth = no competitiveness.
