Terry Ryan should watch it. So should the Twins hitters.

Boof threw 2 bad pitches. Both were crushed for 5 runs.

The Twins do not match up with the Yankees.

I enjoy watching good hitting even if it comes form the Yankees.

I haven't been able to watch the last two games and it sounds like a good thing. I don't like watching the Yankees hit the ball out of the park. The Twins aren't pitching the boofin' ball, hitting the boofin' ball or catching the boofin' ball. I'm with Govs93, I can't wait for this series to be over so we can move on.

Bartlett remains a concern, Gardenhire says that he's nursing a a sore groin. I don't know if Gardy's covering for him but Bartlett has had a terrible start to the season. He had a great season last year but was shaky in the playoffs and has picked up where he left off in Oakland. Casilla will likely start tonight.

Meanwhile Punto has been solid in the field but a liability at the plate. Gardenhire should move him out of the no.2 spot. This may be crazy but I'd suggest moving Mauer to 2nd, Cuddyer 3rd and Morneau 4th. These guys have been hitting the ball, they should get the most at-bats.

Cirillo just had arthroscopic surgery and is expected to be out 3-6 weeks. This is the time to give Kubel the opportunity to prove he can be the regular DH as there's no one else to fill that role right now.

Seriously there are a couple of guys that the Twins could pick up, someone listed these guys on LaVell's blog: Inf Erubiel Durazo, OF Karim Garcia, OF Richard Hidalgo, OF Roger Cedano, DH/1B Eduardo Perz. I'd still like to see what Kubel can do especially against righties but I would think one of these guys might be worth taking a flyer on.

Id bat Cuddyer 5th. Id want to make sure that if somebody got on in the first , Morneau would come to the plate.

I think thats more important than the concern over having 2 lefties back to back in the lineup. Mauer and Morneau hit lefties well enough.

Managers today are always looking in that 3 ring binder trying to get the mathematical matchup they want. It's a haze now but I think I talked about the lefty-lefty, right-lefty, righty-righty thing the other day in regards to Reyes.

Gardy go with common sense and make sure the League MVP gets to hit in the first inning if anyone can get on.

I'd prefer to have Morneau at the no.4 spot (which is where he should be right now) so he has maximum RBI opportunities.

I do agree that it's time to re-think splitting up the lefties, these guys are two of the best hitters in the majors and they should be able to hit the boofin' ball no matter who's pitching or following them in the order.

They need to keep it Mauer, Cuddyer Morneau. That leaves two options, they bring in a lefty, and Cuddyer benefits HUGELY, or they use three pitchers for three batters.

Are Cuddyer's stats a lot better against lefties? I'm too lazy to look but if they are, I'd agree with Boblee, keeping him in between Morneau and Mauer makes sense. The statheads argue that the surrounding batters don't effect a hitter.

His numbers aren't that much better vs. Lefties, it is just the idea of making things more difficult for the opposing manager. If M & M hit back to back, it takes one pitcher to get thru the toughest part of the order, not two, or three, or one who may be less effective against a righty.

It really protects Mauer the most and he doesnt need it.

Its a good thought but it doesnt kick in until the late innings and there are other things to consider.

the twins are getting crushed and if A-Rod keeps this homerun total up he could break the record i know its early but it could happen i personaly dont think he takes enhancments so he could be the first "real" player to have the record

Sometimes games don’t start well and the Twins take too many dreadful at-bats. It’s too early in the season to be seeing that, even in one-sided games.

Sometimes Twins fans should be thankful for a schedule that includes 19 games against Kansas City and 7 against the Yankees.

Sometimes I look ahead in the schedule and get concerned. Like when I see that 14-game stretch against Toronto, Detroit, the Yankees and Chicago just before the All-Star break.

Sometimes it’s better to take things one game at a time and not read too much into 2 nights of terrible baseball.

I like the idea of moving Cuddyer to the #2 spot. Punto had a nice year last year, but I can't forecast another .290 average considering his track record and the holes in his swing. Put 2 good hitters in front of Mauer since he is the team's best hitter and maybe he will have more opportunities with men on base. Morneau can hit 4, both players hit lefties very well so there is no concern in that department.
