Does the U really spend time handpicking all these kids for their camp? I just don't understand how they have time to choose such a large number of kids from all over the state to attend this camp. Could someone please clarify?
What's the Breck connection? It seems that they had an really young team this year that wasn't that strong (lost in first game of playoffs I think) but they sure have a lot of kids on these rosters. Is the selection of these kids by U of M people or do they take everyone that applies?
I see what you mean now that the rosters are out. Out of the rostered players from Brecks team this year, there are 11 skaters that made the Model camp. Of those 11 skaters, 6 are freshmen and 3 are sophomores. There is obviously some connection given the mid-level performance of Breck this year. Maybe if mommy and daddy have enough money to buy you into Breck it includes a free trip to the model camp

The selection process is NOT by the U of M staff only. Last year it was explained to me by a Gophers coach that because of the NCAA rules, they were no longer able to select alone. There are OTHERS that participate in the selection process.
Good luck to ALL that participate, as Model Camp is a great opportunity to be seen by Juniors, College, and Professional Staff.

Did you count up skaters from other schools or just Breck? Don't be a hater it makes you look weak and small. Everyone on the roster has invested their time and heart to hockey, what school they go to doesn't matter. Sounds like jealousy.

Thank you stateofhcky, I thought it was by the U of M but now I know who really decides who gets in.

Thanks 'burg - I was not familiar with the unidentified kids, and MaxPreps had nothing. From another string - I understand Rush is possibly leaving Eden Praire for Minnetonka - so looks like he has teammates to play with either way!
