What no Park Rapids...just kidding. Like the fact they're trying the Roseau - Warroad in Roseau this year best Rink BBQ's in the state. Too bad they can't take the secret tunnel across the street and do in between periods interviews with the cocktail crowd.

FSN has announced its schedule of high school games for the 2007-08 season of Hockey Night in Minnesota. The Upper Midwest cable network will broadcast 16 regular season high school hockey games and *MAY carry the Section 4AA Section Championship game as well.

It will probably end up just like the section 5AA and 6AA finals from last year when Marriucci Arena and the sections wouldn't allow it.

I don't think the same would apply for 4AA. The finals are in the smaller building and it will fill up without too much trouble - ticket sales won't be a factor like it was for the Mariucci finals. If 4AA doesn't get shown it will be for a different reason.

Although, it's not much smaller than Mariucci.

I mean, the White Bear-Hill game is probably the biggest rivalry game in the state and would probably be the easiest to market. I really dont care though, cause I'll be squished into Aldrich at those two games anyways.

As everyone else is saying, I'd much rather watch Grand Rapids, or Hermantown, or Duluth East then Stillwater or Eagan or Buffalo :?: I dont know they picked some of the games they did.

(Tentative probably means yes if it's White Bear versus Hill or no if one of those teams loses earlier in sections which is probably pretty unlikely. I think Roseville lost a lot of seniors last year and Centenial got moved out of the section.)
I would much rather watch Buffalo then GR/DE/HT or HM. Your arrogant recruiter school attutude is typical of the "Pioneer Tradition" There was no better game that aired last season than Buffalo vs Duluth East...btw Buffalo won that game...

Duluth East vs. Cloquet was an awesome FSN game last year as well. I wouldnt say that the East-Buffalo game ran away with the game of the year by any stretch.

White Bear vs. Hill Murray? Game winner in overtime off a Larson back hand? Sell-out crowd? Two Gopher recruits (Hansen and Larson) and two of the top goalies in the state facing off?
I'd say this game wins game of the year...(at least for FSN).

Govs and Neutron, stop making me laugh in school. :D

-eagan is perhaps no Grand Rapids, DE or Hermantown but being the highest scoring team the last 2 years in the lake and placing in the top 3 two years in a row is a bit more qualified than that of eastview and jefferson's fsn televised game last year...the last couple years they have proven themselves, not taking sides but coming from a high school hockey fan they have held their own

Duluth East and Cloquet was definitely a highlight for fans up North. The atmosphere was super, in fact Lapanta was almost telling lots of us for sure they would be back up their to do the broadcast again. In Buffalo, they were treated like royalty by the Buffalo school. Couldn't quite believe everything they had done to roll out the red carpet for FSN. Not surprised at all they are going back for the good food, because the game wasn't all that good (unless you were a BISON) East was tired, and sluggish and it showed. Buffalo was pumped.

Don't you think it's great they are spreading it around a little?? Most of the teams you are mentioning will be getting plenty of air time at the tournament. How cool for these players to play on a regional tv audiance.

Hey, The Section 8A is at the Mini-Ralph is the 8AA there again this year? If they were on the same day FSN could do a day at the most beautiful HS rink in the world. \:D/ They could do the JV game at 3 or 4 and the Varsity at 7. :P Should be plenty of corporate sponsorship monies between Polaris - Marvins if neither Roseau and Warroad are upset as they both are heavy favorites to at the very least make their respective Section Finals. Hint, Hint.... O:)

Say what?

GR3343 wrote:Nice schedule. FSN should be ashamed of themselves. They've clearly eliminated the north teams from their schedule. Must be of the mind that northern folk don't belong. Televising games was a great idea, and in the last couple of years, they've done a good job spreading things out, but this year they've done the north an injustice. The defending champs get on once(maybe twice)but Stillwater is a given? No GR, no East, but Cloquet vs Buffalo? Who thought that would be a better matchup than Roseau vs Rapids from the far north? A rematch of the state finals is more appealing than most of what they've got scheduled. It appears there is only three maybe four north teams listed which is another slap at northern teams. Why don't they just sell a package and call it ANYONE WHO IS NOT FROM THE NORTH? I really do think it's a joke. As a hockey fan in general, I'd rather watch Roseau vs anyone or GR vs East compared to Stillwater vs whoever. At least mix it up a bit.
Cloquet
Warroad
Roseau
Eveleth
Lake of the Woods
Moorhead

Is the problem that there aren't northern teams, or that the one you care most about isn't on there?

I Think he is saying where is:

Hermantown
Hibbing
Duluth Marshall
Grand Rapids
Brainerd
etc.

And just making a general statement that the metro coverage is far more than the northern coverage. Northern hockey has been very strong the past few years, especially last year. There is no reason to think it won't continue to be.
