I believe they are 4 - 9 with a recent close game loss to Grand Rapids.
Lots of 1 & 2 goal games. Big losses to Duluth East and Roseville and one other team.

D16, D15, D5 are matched up for Regions this year. D15 and 16 know each other pretty well, but who would be the top teams out of D5. I see Sartell in the rankings, but not much other than that.

This was just North of St. Cloud for this poll.

Buffalo and Sartell are the top two I believe.

Monticello and Willmar would be in the battle somewhere, plus maybe one more team.

Big game tonight with Rapids @ Bemidji. I won't be attending, but will try to get a decent game summary if I can. Hopefully Elliott will be there.

I was there.
People got there money's worth.
1 - 0 winning goal came with 4 seconds left.
Penalties were about 5 each.
Each team had their moments. Very good goaltending.
At the end Bemidji looked the better of the two, but if they had played another period it may well have switched.

Oh, Bemidji had the one and GR the zero.
Nice top shelf after goalie committed.

Why did they play 17 minute periods? And I heard about a clock issue where they added a minute in the third. Sounds to me like this is a 0-0 tie. That woulda been the score after the normal 45 minutes plus 5 minute OT.

Over here in D16, that is what we play, every time, every game. I believe we do that to get the kids ready for the longer periods in High School. Who knows, if we would have had the extra time that we are used too, we may have won the first game. But we didn't, and didn't complain about your shorter game periods.

By the way, I was running the clock. There was not an extra minute placed on the clock in the third. What happened was this: Bemidji #18 got a penalty, I put the penalty up on the board and mistakenly bumped the time switch before the puck was dropped. Once we realized the problem, I stopped the clock and asked the scorekeeper, who wrote down the time of the penalty in the book, what time the player went in which was 13:36. The clock had run for 8 seconds to 13:28. I then held the game up for a second, corrected both the clock and the penalty timer, and resumed play.

Not sure where the issue was because neither the Bemidji nor the Grand Rapids fans, coaches, players, or cheerleaders mentioned or yelled about it at any time during or after the game.

I wish you could have been there Boblee, it was an awesome Northern Minnesota hockey game. You would have been proud of both teams, they are very evenly matched. Great hustle, great defence, great goaltending. It was the type game we all want to attend.

Also, to DOALIE20 who called this a fluke, Bemidji outshot Rapids 28-18. Don't belittle both teams by calling it a fluke. Rapids played well, Bemidji played well.

D16 plays 17 minute periods. Not sure if it was a minute but there was a clock issue.

I heard it was not a mistake but an accident created because your eyes were diverted to the GR moms' cheering section.

Eveleth 1

It seems to me that the top 5 teams continue to be juggled.

I would expect that to happen right through regions.
