I don't know how to put this gently, but you are being kind of nasty!

Touche' Govs. Charliedog you have to realize Angus' angle. As for the music I just think it gets over the top. Someone talks about the HS bands I'd much prefer them. Listening to Grand Rapids band rock the house instead of Heavy Metal is way better besides it's getting more HS kids to participate . Listening to Roseau's HS band play their school song after every goal is great too, the best part is they usually get lots of practice during games. I'll take a good trumpet solo hitting the high notes during the Anthem before a scratchy Hendrix solo anyday.

Admission isnt what I was referring to. If it wasn't for parents and taxpayers, there wouldn't be high school hockey. For spoiled brats to say we don't matter is more than a little short sighted.

I dont remember saying you dont matter, I remember saying that its not you guys playing the game and you had your time with your music that your parents thought was terrible (some parents not all, just like this situ). I guarentee they complained and I guarentee you didnt stop playing it... What are you hoping to achieve by complaining on a board about it? I didnt mean it disrespectfully, just that you guys had your time with yoru music, now the kids of today get their time....

Sorry dude, you missed drastically on the WE had our music in our time. We had our music IN the locker room the band played at appropriate times usually to start the game, after a hometeam goal which there were many of and there was the occasional trumpet blast followed by a CHARGE. Along with the band and the cheerleaders collaborating on snappy cheers.

Thanks for the info you fossil - now can you get off your soapbox and let us enjoy our music. I hope your're riding your horse and buggy too since you like to keep everything so "real". What a clown!

Who said I dont pay taxes. I have a job and the FICA takes plenty of money away from my paycheck every week. Not full blown Land of 10000 taxes taxes but still, annoying

I will take the warm up music. Give us a break during the stop of play. I was told, and believe the purpose of the music when play stops was so the players and officials did not have to hear the "cat calls" from the crowd. Not a real problem at high schools sports.

I would love to see a band at every game, but lets be serious that is not possible. Some schools don't even have a band, others that do have to share the band with basketball boys and girls, and some schools may even share it with the girls hockey team. I think that the kids would also like to see a band at the games, it acts as a moral booster. When there is not band present, I think that you have to have music. The kids that are playing enjoy it, and isn't that why you are there? Yes the music can get a bit loud and annoying at times, when I was in high school we actually had to hide a CD from the rink manager because it was the only one they would play and it was the soundtrack from Top Gun. Nothing pumped me up more then listening to that. Leave the music alone as long as it doesn't have any "bad" words and is played at a reasonable level.

What is the deal with all of the techno that I hear all over the place. Lakeville South was playing techno after almost every stoppage and Eastview or Apple Valley I cant remember which one but same rink just blast techno, i even saw one of the goalies start to play around with a glowstick. But i guess thats just typical highschool kids these days and will listen to whatever they think older people dont like.

Yeah I was at that game too they played good music the whole time they were there, just rocking out, but it wasn't obnoxiously loud or anything. That anthem was great

Last year at the CP v Armstrong game some kid played the national anthem on the guitar. It was absolutely horrid, but I tip my hat for the kid going out there and trying.

The worst no doubt is the music at the Parade Ice Gardens in Minneapolis. They play sound clips from the very beginning of NBC nigtly news. Family guy. Some weird grunting crap. Eifel 65. It was bizarre.
