Apple Valley High School where the game is being played is having a caucus that will be starting at the school at 7 o'clock so that will take up parking space. Not sure I heard they are expecting alot so the parking lot may fill all the way up tomorrow night, because there is also a Basketball game in the gym.

correct I'll be there in my high school letter jacket if I get there, prolly jumping around to the Av-B'ville BBall game at the gym as well during intermission perhaps, it may be the meeting of the city of Apple Valley minnhock minds upon us.

People will also want to get there early because there is limited seating at that rink connected to AVHS.

That's another good point, I'm still trying to figure out where they think that are going to put the cameras cause in the stands is all I can think of for the main one unless they build a stand behind the benches.

Bville wins 4-2

EV dominated the first half of the game, then it was all bville. EV's first line played well until the 3rd. Larson and Maloney with amazing goals. Fienhage for EV did not play well and was not impressed.... anyone else agree??

Agreed. If he plans on playing for the Fighting Sioux he better get a lot better the next couple of years in Juniors.

I agree with you on everything you said STEV. Might I add though it was a very nice pass on B'Villes first 2 I think it was. BV's goalie kept them in it until they got everything going up front.

I am not positive but I did hear he was skipping out on Juniors at least that's what he wanted to do? Does UND have a word on that or can he go to the school and just not see the ice? Cause I agree he is not ready.

As far as I know there hasn't been a official decision, but I know he "plans" on going straight their. I think it depends on if anyone leaves this year from UND and what not. But either he is in a slump or something becuase I have seen him play much better. Maloney's goal was pretty amazing, the acceleration was awesome.

EVs d was huge in the first 1.5 periods. Then Burnsvilles lines started contolling the O. Unbeleivable game though

Whatever Fienhage's plans are he needs to change something, preferably back to how he played last year minus the hot headedness. This year he just seems lazy and like he thinks hes better than he is.

In the game though I agree the first two BV goals were nice plays but that third goal was just WEAK. Again, if EV had better goaltending maybe that shot doesnt go in, maybe BV doesnt start to run away with it and maybe EV wins. Because it was obvious when EV was flying that they arent going to be over-matched by alot of teams, they can fly.

Its pretty easy to take the scapegoat and blame the goaltender ---- however its funny to me that one mistake by a forward or defensemen gets unnoitced and when its a goalie people are amazed it happened.

Look at the 6 goals from last night ---

PERIOD 1 - NO SCORING

PERIOD 2 -

EV Goal 1 - McDuff is not playing his guy Larson who ends up getting a centering pass and taking it to the house. No one will remember the setup just the goal was scored on Becker.

EV Goal 2 - Maloney absolutely shows his acceleration and blows by McDuff because of a poor angle and makes Becker look silly. People can complain that he didn't make a move to poke it away however they won't remember the D Man who was walked around in the process.

BV Goal 1 - Perry turns it over at the blueline and there is nobody back to stop the 3-1. Barnes on a slapshot from 5 feet isn't going to miss very often.

BV Goal 2 - Peters takes a stupid Penalty with under two minutes left in the period by tackling a kid and everyone forget that because BV Score on another tap in from Mike Comstock. I'm sure most of the parent out there taped it so take a look that is Larson's guy out front whose stick should have been off the ice.

PERIOD 3 -

BV Goal 3 - Soft goal that was given up by the goaltender -- however there was a screen on the play but it still could have been saved.

BV Goal 4 - Watch the tape on this one Critics --- On a powerplay Budweg had two guys on him and a ton of open ice; instead his pushes it up the side wall and it is turned over at the blue line one quick feed and their PP turns into a shortice breakaway. Krob makes the save and it pushed into the net.

I know because I played that hockey is a game of mistakes I just find it comical that more people don't blame the players themselves over the goalies who play in the game. When the goalie team wins like Burnsvilles Becker everyone forgets about the saves he could have made but when EV's Team loses people want to blame Krob. I'm not blaming McDuff and the other Ev players for the mistakes because if hockey was a mistake free game no one would ever score and the lake would be ties with records of 0-0-20 which wouldn't make the games very interesting.

Give the goalies and player some credit because Both Goalies played a great game as well as the players --- thats what high school hockey is all about --- but to the people blaming one player for the loss --- For anyone who has played the game of hockey check out your Tivo and lets see you back up your answers in response to this post.

Good recap of the game, but Larsons break away goal was not McDuffs guy it was the young Hendricksons. He was standing on the blue line watching a wonderful game. As what I saw B'ville goaltender played great, and B'ville depth was to much for EV. EV played mostly 2 lines until the 3rd period, there 1st line was gased and didn't do a thing in the 3rd. Burnsville again showed great depth as the 1st line got 1 goal, 2nd line 2 goals and 3rd line got 1. It looks like B'ville has a hand up on the comference title.

This is the second or third time I've seen Eastview this year. They would be a really good team if they had any goaltending at all. Not sure if the kid who played last night has been in goal all season but I do recall him looking questionable against Mahtomedi. Eastview dominated the first half of the game but they were gassed at the end. Congrats to Burnsville for pulling out the big win and coupled with the Rosemount loss, I believe they are tied for the conference crown as of today...

The guy who played last night was #25 in the Silver mask. The player you are refering to is #29 Ryan O'shea who played in the Mahtomedi game and gave up 4 goals on 13 shots. From the stats they showed on the TV #25 has a pretty good save % and the guy I would expect EV to go to in their playoff run because he is more solid than O'shea.

actually out of technicality Rosemount has the slight edge since they beat burnsville in their first game, which would give them the head to head tie-breaker if the season ended now. But, they still have to play again the last game of the year.

I agree that they are showing some depth this year which could make the difference. Last year they were riding the first line all the time and it worked but I think everyone knew that this year opponents were going to try and shut that line down. With two other lines scoring and with goaltending that appears to be strong, they are definitely looking good in the conference and in sections.

I think if EV has a shot against Rose in sections they are going to have to have Krob get hot and carry them.

That or have Rosemount play like they did against South last night. That's the amazing thing EV could lose first round or they could win the section it's high school kids and if they don't show up one game no matter who the team they are playing they could be done. Just look at the Apple Valley football team 7 seed went to the section final this year. Anything is possible.
