That was not necessarily a size problem, more of an injury problem if I recall correctly.
Ness has the skills and the character to make it to the NHL and sustain a good career but just like every other player that has made it, it takes some luck too. 5'9" wont stop him, injuries and unlucky mishaps might. I am rooting for him, he is a stand up guy and a great kid. Anyone who listened to his post game interview last night knows what I am talking about.

I believe there was a knee/leg injury that occurred that did not help the cause. I can find out for sure tomorrow but I am pretty sure there was an injury in a minor league game that had to do with it.

You are correct. He signed with Wild but ended up with an Achilles Tendon injury during training camp and never really recovered from it. He ended up retiring roughly a year after.

I believe Stepan will be taken early as in late first or early second. His hands are amazing. A true playmaker.

I agree, but that was 5 years into his pro career.

5 years is still a young career. Look at how young the players are and how long some of them play. Chelios is ancient and still playing strong, players tend to go 12 or more years, especially when they enter at 22 or younger.
