So since this thread has kind of turned into a combination of the storied histories of these two towns, here's something to chew on...

Say something happens to Polaris in the future and the major employer of Roseau isn't in town anymore(not that much of a stretch from what i've heard lately)...Long story short, the two schools combine. Imagine the teams that could've been/could be put together and called the Salol North Stars... I can't think of many years where this combo wouldn't have went real deep in St Paul.

World Junior Tourney - Bryan played in a different tourney.

Henry was on the '72 silver Medal team.

Yeah I deleted. Bryan played on Team USA select cup in Europe but not Juniors Team...

Well when you have section 8 as your farm system who needs good youth teams.

Maybe those schools should work on building up their own programs so the kids will have no reason to want to move...Look at TRF, new rink new coach, haven't seen anyone leave there for a while.

I'm not really understanding why people cannot acknowledge Warroad is after hardware the easier path since they've never won the AA title? When Roseau opted up, they went to three straight tournaments, winning in '99. It's like if Edina decided to switch to an easier section. Do you think people would really say, "Hey, it's ok. Edina has great traditon anyways." Not likely, which is kind of my entire point behind the small town bias. I often wonder how much small towns like Warroad or Roseau are willing to play the recruiting game in the past? It requires investigative reporting that is objective. Otherwise it's just the same old private, therefore cheaters; small town, golden.

If I were a really good hockey player from Warroad, I would move to T.R.F.

I think Roseau and Warroad should combine in all sports so I dont have to read about all your crying from both towns on who is better, your all a bunch of babies grow up and act like adults. Who cares who has a better "tradition" do you get a trophy for it?

McKinnon grew up in Williams. Hangsleben did not play in the Olympics, but did participate in a Canada Cup or two. Boucha competed on the 1972 Olympic team. Gordy Christian competed in the 1956 Olympics. Roger and Bill Christian competed in the 1960 and 1964 Olympics. All of the above competed on a few national teams.

Now its time for NHL players from each town......please.....

Roseau NHL: Mike Baumgartner, Dale Smedsmo, Earl Anderson, Neal Broten, Aaron Broten, Paul Broten, Butsy Erickson, Josh Olson, Dusty Byfuglien.

Warroad: Al Hangslaben (Actually from Swift.), Henry Boucha, Dave Christian.

Did I miss anyone?
