Nikebauer if you dont like the game/players dont go ! At least the games give some duluth/range area kids a couple extra games to play in . No matter who the coaches/players are. Someone is always gonna complain about it. We should be happy theres a chance to watch 2 more games after the playoffs are over. Theres some good players on both teams so it should be fun to watch.

Well said, I agree completely.

For the Iron Range, Eric Olson of International Falls is the captain, Anthony DeCenzo of Hibbing and Ladd Corrin of I Falls are assistants.

For Duluth, Chris Stafne of Denfeld is the captain with Dano Jacques of Marshall and Justin Jokinen of CEC as assistants.

I doubt his dad would have nominated him if he was not planning on participating. I'm guessing he'll be playing.
I've heard otherwise, but who knows.
BarNorth, I was never complaining about who was on the team so I don't know where you get that from. Others were complaining about Todd Sandstrom not making it and Drew Vechell making it, I think the rosters are just fine. Maybe you should single out some other people who are complaining next time.

I went to the game last year in Eveleth and I just wasn't too impressed. It's fun to watch some of the top players in the state but there is just no atmosphere or hype about it.

Yes wish more people came out for the games ! Thats true enough !

I wonder what the lines will look like for the Duluth team.
After watching the East Cloquet game, it would be fun to see Jokinen in the middle of Boese and Johnson with Anderson and Brown on D together.

I have to agree. The atmosphere in Eveleth is awful. Small crowd with no hype whatsoever. Other than on this board and a small blurt in the Duluth News Tribune, there has been ZERO publicity for this game. That is the biggest problem. Kernz & Company does a terrible job marketing this on the Iron Range. I haven't ever made it down to a Duluth game, so I can't speak to what its like down there, but there is plenty of room for improvement for the Range game. Perhaps a venue change is needed. Eveleth has trouble getting fans in for most of their regular season games as well. I wouldn't mind seeing it moved to Virginia or Hibbing.

Or how bout Rapids? The last time the game was here, it drew well and was well promoted. I understand about the history of Eveleth and all, but if you want this game to succeed, put in a venue where you're going to draw fans & media.

Does it bother anyone else that Justin Jokinen and Jussi Jokinen pronounce their last names differently?

The game is being broadcast on 94.1 FM and 104.3 FM in Duluth...though I couldn't stand listening for very long. The guys announcing sound like they wouldn't know a hockey game from a bake off
