Historical moment indeed. The first ever HS hockey game to be played as shirts vs. skins.

No way that LOW is that high. They lost their best scorer and weren't solid to begin with.

What forum has the top players by the way?

Can someone explain to me how Bemidji with an Enrollment of 1501 is in Class A?

Enrollment for Schools AA Tourney this year:
Blaine 2869
Woodbury 2399
Edina 1901
Lakeville South 1285
Benilde-St. Margarets 873
Hill-Murray 861
Cloquet 737
Roseau 410

State Champs Hill-Murray? Hmmm . . .

Call the MSHSL, they set the number.
One more year and I am 98% sure they will elect to opt up.
I don't think the numbers will get them there unless they change the formula, again.

I don't think it is fair to compare the private school numbers as they control that number as well as who gets in the door. The rest of us ahve to take everyone nad some of those students will not, or cannot be active in extracurricular activities for a variety of reasons. Hill-Murray at 861 would be how many if they were required to take a % of special need students, transient family students, and families for whateer reason have no involvment with their child's education without even considering the extras like sports.

I think it is great that HM and Benilde elect up, but their student population is not a fair measuring stick against public schools.

And 1501 is not the correct number.
The official MSHSL number is 1200 plus a bit.
That makes them the second largest single A hockey team behind Alex.
So why is Alex single A?

There will always be the team in single A with the largest enrollment...plus the mshl does set the maximum enrollment number and obviously neither alex nor bemidji got to it and bemidji had the option to go down and they did...which really shouldnt bother anyone

Here's the scorers in the top 200 hundred coming back, they might have added more in the playoffs:

EGF: Jake Useldinger,
KC: Craig Lindegard, Kellen Albrecht
We'll have to see if they keep up the numbers next year.

You should probably add Brock Nelson to that list, you'll hear about him quite a bit in the next couple years.

Uhh, notice to Peanut Gallery: 2008 was your best team ever and you got blown out of the water in the playoffs. Why would any upper tier team waste a valuable schedule spot on a team that lost what talent it did have? Sorry, but its going to be a while before you get much respect from the "upper tier" teams... :!:

Nope, and it isn't coming any time soon either. I have a feeling the gallery is going the way of bearcheer and the rest of the LOW posters from a few years back when they thought they had a chance...
