I'd say you're close but a little off...Rochester is a top 5 team and
Eagan is better than anyone gives them credit for.

MNhockey2012. How can you rank Hermantown in your list? New Ulm beat them 4 to 1 last year and with only one 1st year bantam on the New Ulm bantam a team this year watch for a repeat of last year.

Well another season is in full swing as some of the best teams in the state played some good hockey at the preview this last weekend.
1. Wayzata - Great weekend Solidified themselves as #1 what a great 1st line
2. East - Played an extra game and beat up Edina..but lost one to Centennial?
3. Maple Grove/ Osseo - Didn't blow anyone out but played tough vs good teams
4. Rochester - solid weekend
5. Minnetonka- not in preview
6. WBL - not on the right end of everything... but was good all weekend
7. Lakeville South - could be a top team lets see what they do if they play someone?
8. Centennial - beat EP, but more impressively East???? Go big or go home I guess
9. Eagan - lots of speed and talent outplayed and tied Centennial, but lost to East
10. Edina - lost to #1 and 2 plays centennial tuesday night
11. East Grand -
12. Woodbury -
13. Roseau -
14. Grand Rapids - just in tryouts ..lets see how they do vs some of the big boys
15. EP - got beat up all weekend
16. Apple Valley - not sure when we will see them
17. Stillwater - game vs EP not as impressive as EP falls hard this weekend
18. Chaska - on the board with some quality scores
19. Moorhead - always tough to judge tryouts..but played best teams, ouch
20. Bemidji - still on the board but playing Hibbing won't keep ya there
This is the only my opinion, but There are a couple of teams pushing to be in the top 20... Jefferson, Minneapolis Park, Blaine..... however we won't know what everyone really has until after the thanksgiving tourneys.

You still have to beat someone, not just put on a jersey and work hard. Some teams only play an upperend schedule.

Kind of a quiet weekend around town. Some scores to report but other than that not much change.
1. Wayzata - heard a rumor they lost to EP?
2. East - Hosting big tourney this weekend- they should be better
3. Maple Grove/ Osseo - Solid team
4. Edina - Beat Centennial 3-2 and Rochester 5-4
5. Minnetonka- tied AV at 0's, not scoring a lot but good D
6. Rochester - lost to Edina
7. Lakeville South - beat up on burnsville, still not the quality win I'm looking for
8. WBL - still undecied about these guys lets see what they do in Duluth
9. EP - snuck by the Trojans... Nicely done
10. Centennial - lost to Hornets
11. Chaska - good victory over Eagan.
12. Woodbury -
13. Roseau -
14. Apple Valley - Tied a top team in Tonka, and beat up some patsies
15. Eagan - Lost to Chaska
16. Grand Rapids -
17. East Grand -
18. Minneapolis Park - On the Board playing tough vs Wayzata
19. Stillwater - Ripping Como does not impress!!!!!
20. Moorhead - Tick Tock.... lets play some hockey
Wow lots of movement this year... I think I could expand this to 25 and still not get everyone involved. After 1,2, and 3 this is a wide open year. Don't be shocked to see teams move on and off the top 20 all year long

in defense of stillwater...district 1 and district 2 have an agreement that the D1's east teams: johnson, highland, como and irondale will play D2. it would have served both of these teams if that game happened later in the season but in the end it is what it is.
stillwater is a strong team and should only loose 1 player to high school. they have a very good coach and should mature well this season.

Umm, yah.
I think if a team loses their two best players, that would by definition make them not as good.

I believe nothing willbe known until hockey tryouts for highschools are over. Some associations will have 0 kids leave and some will have 5 leave.

I have to say after watching this weekend of hockey. I may be more confused than ever.
1. Wayzata - Won the Tommy Williams tourney. but did not play great in pool play.
2. East - Blanked #1 2-0, then laid an egg vs Tonka, and got revenge on Centennial
3. Edina - Beat up on Chaska
4. Rochester - Beat OMG 4-2
5. Minnetonka- Lost to Centennial, but beat east
6. Maple Grove/ Osseo - Dropped a hard one to Rochester, and Shattuck
7. Lakeville South -
8. Centennial - Won their pool, but got beat up good on sunday, maybe the lack of size made them tired.
9. Apple Valley - Taking care of business the teams they should beat
10. WBL - Had some great periods up north but could not but it all together
11. Chaska - lost to Edina 5-2
12. Woodbury - couple of ties this weekend, good team speed, no finishers
13. Roseau -
14. Eagan -
15. EP - Lost to Cloquet??? ISH POO (what team will show, no one knows)
16. Roseville - playing well, welcome to the top 20
17. Minneapolis Park -
18. Grand Rapids - falling off the board fast, not playing as well as we thought
19. East Grand - has anyone heard from them yet
20. Stillwater - dropping game to Tartin...ick
Teams on the outside looking in this week (in no particular order)
Rogers, Rosemount, Moorhead, Burnsville
Note: some teams are going to loose kids to HS when and if that happens it may help clear up some of this mess.

A couple weeks ago I'm at the rink looking in LPH and two scores jumped way out at me.
MG/O 11, Edina 2
MG/O 6 Eden Prairie 0
I see this week they are ranked #3 and EP and EDINA are right behind them.
Were these legit scores?
ANyone? Bueller?

EP shouldn't even be ranked. They will not be good this year. Woodbury lost by one to 'Tonka in OT and 1 in a SO to Centennial. Those were the first 2 games this group had played together. I suspect they'll be coming on stronger as the season progresses. Centennial.....not too good but always comes on strong. Wayzata was not too impressive this weekend in the Tommy Williams. Never really controlled any of the games they played. I'd say they and EP are ranked only because of previous reputation and not necessarily skill this year.
