Don't forget it's at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center, not the DECC. So it's been changed 2 times now. It was changed to the DECC, however I got an email on Mon. from the Grand Rapids Athletic Director saying it would be changed back to the Heritage Center. Times are 6:00 JV, 8:00 Varsity.

Yeah, i suppose they just want the slaughter fest for the ages over asap. Waiting for the DECC would just cause a delay in what is sure to be a beat down, Pow Wow style, you wouldn't want it shoved in your face any other way would u?

Rapids has played good hockey the last couple of games.
They're gonna have to play well Wed. to hang with the Hounds.

Pretty sure I wasnt the one making all those stupid wise cracks at the other team being scared to play. Confidence is one thing, those are just stupid. And yes, I am pumped for this game.

I dont think thats the reason, its coming to me hold on.... yep, everyone is tired of getting waxed. What can i say, Dont hate the player hate the game. And saying seeing us get killed at state? that means your faith in your team has gone to the PLEASE BAN ME as well. thats fine i guess we all lose faith sooner or later...

Im going to make a change on my prediction on this game. With the well rested players, and the tired hounds....

east - 3

Thats fine. Too be fair, they need to play their backup goalie adn take 2 of their top players out, to make it fair.
This is going to be a good game, hoepfully with a good outcome.

Classless post, after a page and a half of Grand Rapids fans (who are loyal and passionate) analyzing how they might play tonite including some silly remarks about the scheduling of the game you rip on Duluth Easts program and show what I believe are some awful characteristics of people across the Northland when they consider Duluth East. I know there were a couple of cocky posts from what look like high school kids, but maybe they are tired of what I have been noticing for the past 10 years, where East kids are not given the credit they deserve in the local paper, all star game selections, or great 8 voting. For whatever reason people dont like East, dont take it out on there kids. Maybe East, Grand Rapids, and Cloquet deserve a lot of credit for continuing to play AA when they could all go down to A. I wonder how many time the darlings of the area would make it to the stat tournament if they had to play Rapids, the Jacks or East to get there. I know that Lets Play Hockey and another publication called the Breakdown named East's defense the number one rated group in the State it might have been nice to have our local paper pick that up and give them a little recognition for that, or maybe it would have been nice to recognize Tardy for leading the Elite I league in scoring or Cooper for being the number 1 goalie in the league based upon GAA and save percentage.

Should be a great game between 2 long time rivals. Would love to see this one. To bad they only play once a year a home and home seems to make sense for this rivalry.

Interesting idea. I think this is a bit of a one-way rivalry, though. I don't mean that as a slight to Rapids, but reality is that East doesn't really think of Rapids as a rival in the way Rapids thinks of East as one.

That's not to say it can't or won't change. Just the stage it's at right now.

Back when I lived there, Greenway, Hibbing, and I Falls were the big rivalry games.
GR seldom played East.
I'm too far removed (old) for the East rivalry.
But I will work on it.

I know that a lot of East kids enjoy going to the IRC arena to play. Great arena, great atmosphere, great announcer, and the kids enjoy playing on the range.
I think rivals make things interseting Karl, if you dont think this is a rivalry that would leave Cloquet as Easts only rival? What do you think?

Yeah, Cloquet's probably East's only "real" rival. East suffers from a lack of real geographic rivals in their class. But I think the most important thing in a rivalry is its competitiveness and (again), with all due respect to Rapids, all they've got is that one win in the playoffs 2 years ago. When was the last time Rapids won in the regular season?

Rapids is probably the 2nd-best thing they have, but it's a ways down from Cloquet. And this might seem a bit odd, but Superior isn't a bad one either. The last few against the Wisconsonites have been thrillers.

That's exactly it too. Our football team went 11-0 in the regular season and we got a tiny blurb. But if Central beats Denfeld its headline news. Point is, I've developed a tough skin because no one cares about East except East grads. Its an us against the world mentallity I guess. We are like Edina in the fact that no one likes us lol. We jsut aren't the pride of the city like the Trojans or Hunters, who get throttled often. So hate on ius its fine, but I was trying to goad the two Indians (sn) into responding so we could discuss our schools and trade insults, but I guess not.
