I also agree with this 100%! But what if it's a tie?
I believe if these two teams (back to Edina/Jefferson) make it to the section championship, it will be played on March 4th. I just might have to pass on my section 5 semi-final game to see this one! That will be a tough one! Hard to pass seeing Blaine or Centennial play but so would a Edina and Jefferson game. I bet that game would really draw a crowd!

But then the question becomes if Centennial wins is Centennial #2 or Edina #2??

It's gotta be Centennial. When 2 reall good teams play each other, the winner should always be ranked ahead of th loser. This is not the case when a really good team plays a decent team and loses because flukes do happen.
Only Jefferson loss

I may be wrong but if that is the case then Jefferson's 25-0 record up against a 23-2 record of Edina could swing either way.
I think that EP will give Jefferson their only loss at EP on February 10, 2009. This will be a hard fought game, but I think this is their only let down. EP at Jefferson, I wasn't there, but EP struggled against Jeffersons forecheck and was intimidated by their student section. I think this evens out at EP and they figure this out and win a very close game.

According to My Fox Hockey the facts below speak for themselves. Edina should be and deserves to be ranked #1 especially after beating Wayzata 5 to 0 last night.
The combined record of the Hornets opponents last week and this week: 40-9-2
The combined record of teams from last week and this week the Jags have seen is a dismal 16-41-1

I understand the whole strength of schedule thing and agree Edina is #1 as of right now, but the numbers are a little deceiving you chose the week of when Jefferson plays their weakest stretch in their schedule. (Rosemount 0-17. Lakeville North 5-11-1, and next week Kennedy 2-12-1)

Seriously I didn't pick any certain weekend and I doubt that My Fox Hockey did either. The truth is Edina has played a much tougher schedule than Bllomington Jefferson has.
But just for fun how far would you like to go forward or back? Which games do you want to compare that will help tighten the gap between their schedules? You know what there isn't one.
Next 4 Games: BJ = 25-35-1 / Edina = 44-16-4
Next 6 Games: Bj = 46-43-2 / Edina = 65-26-6

I understand they play a tougher schedule but 25 games below .500 doesn't sum up Jefferson's whole schedule. Look at after the next 6 games it finally gets above .500 that is more of their average schedule.

EP had a miserable time against Jefferson but intimidated by the Jag student section....are you kidding?

Yes, have you EVER played in an arena as BIG 1 with the students hanging over the glass and ripping players all game long. Don't get me wrong, I think this is great, but I think EP has 10 sophomores on their team, probably not all playing in this game, but it is very intimidating for those that played. I think EP has a chance to win their next meeting at their low toned down arena. EP high school officials will make sure of this. This is the only chance of a Bloomington loss in their schedule, if not, they seem to be completely in control of the LAKE.

If you are listening to the fans and they intimidate you then maybe you should be playing ping-pong or tennis. If EP can't handle that in a regular season game then they will be toast in the section 6AA play-offs. I don't believe that for a minute but if it is true it bodes well for BSM, Wayzata and Minnetonka.

Yes I have played in an arena as BIG 1 with the students hanging over the glass and ripping players all game long. Guess what? Real sportsmen(including EP's seniors, juniors and sophomores) relish the opportunity to play in that type of environment home or away. Don't agree? Maybe that's why your handle is LakeVIEWING and not LakePLAYING. Give props to the Jag fans for their tremendous support of the home team but the game is won or lost on the ice.

Incorrect - seeding does not fall automatically by record and given their respective SOS I don't think you can logically argue against Edina as the #1 seed.

Well I suppose the Edina loss tonight should end this debate. Maybe there will be a new debate on Sunday! Who should be number 2? Edina or Centennial? Which ever way it goes, it will be decided on Tuesday. I just hope I get to enjoy my morning coffee with some fresh rankings again as I did last Sunday! No pressure karl! I sleep in on Sundays!

I'm about to start in on them...
