Congrats to the Forest Lake Rangers, they may have lost, but in losing I think they have gained some respect for our hockey community. They have played with class and with heart and we will miss our Seniors. How many times did Fick strip the puck from Tardy? DEast is a very good team. Hats off to Paul Moberg, you were great today.

Wow. First, props to Forest Lake and especially to Paul Moberg for giving East all they could handle today. This game could have gone either way. Karl, how long did it take for your heart rate to come back to normal after the game?
Second, what can I say about Howie Hanson? He's a journalistic hack. He isn't a has-been. He's a never-was. I wrote better stuff for my high school paper back in the "day".
In other words, he's no Bruce Bennett. If I want to read something objective and interesting, I'll visit Bruce Ciskie's blog. Bruce knows hockey. Howie comes across as a bitter man.

It took me a good half hour, at least. Yikes.
I wrote him a pleasant little response while listening to Cloquet-ER. I'm going to post it on his most recent hockey-related post, if anyone is interested. I had fun with it.

Update: my little note to Howie Hanson is "awaiting moderation."
What nonsense. I bet five dollars it never appears.

Photos from this 7AA Semi-final
The only negative from the game is that the place wasn't more packed, so a lot of people missed a great goaltending performance by Moberg, even with the loss.

Very nice pictures! The last one is my favorite.
Looks as if Flake has gotten new uniforms since I last saw them. That is a positive development.
And it's taking Howie Hanson a rather long time to "moderate" my post, though its status is still listed as such.

Haha Howie Hanson just put a pic of Nolan Meyer saying he has been a strong performer all year. Funny, considering he didnt play until the last half of the season, albeit he did play well, and didnt play vs Flake.

I've always thought Meyer was the most talented sophmore of the three. Maybe Howie knows what he's talking about after all

Dont know what you mean by 3, but Schendel is better than Meyer overall. Meyer is a better snipe, but Schendel gets the job done and has played all year.

Indeed Moberg played a fantastic game and I believe this might have been his best game ever...though it wasn't a win for them, he obviously wasn't gonna let his team go out without a fight to the bitter end. Hats off to Moberg on a mindblowing performance, I don't know if it's gets any better than that!

Yes Schendel is better defensivley and may be a better passer but meyer can flat out put the puck in the net, which they had a hard time doing yesterday. And there was a time a little over halfway through the year where Schendel did not play very much at all.

#3 being Welinski. He didn't say forwards specifically.

Meyer is a big time player who right now is in a tough spot. It is hard to think of many teams he would not be taking a regular shift and probably some power play time as well. Unfortunately for him, Schendel, and Olson there are only two spots available for them and right now Meyer is the one missing regular shifts. He is a great kid with a bright future and watching the way Randolph has used these guys it would have been tough for Meyer to get much ice time against Forest Lake but that could change in a heart beat agaianst Elk River and other games hopefully to come this year. He has been out there at critical times this year and it seems that Randolph has faith in him but in the Forest Lake game the third line played well and there was no reason to break up that rhythm. Meyer continues to work hard, carry a good attitute and is a part of the team.
