yeah, that doomed them and so did taking away a clean goal. they got robbed.

That is their only weak spot. Every decent team last year scored 4-5 goals on us despite being outshot by quite a bit and remember Richfield? ouch, that was all goalie and may go down as the most embarrassing loss ever, they didn't have but a few decent chances at best and Stillwater only made it close because of some very weak ones. Good goalies give their team a chance to win, this one has given the other teams more chances to win games they shouldn't. Someone goalie guy last year mentioned how weak he was stick side, so i watched it quite a bit, and that's the side were most goals went in on fewer chances.

I don't think the bears will be ready though, and is that berkenbine kid playing? they never seem to play well against hill early, but come playoffs they are always tough and this year with the offense they might have??? I think it'll be hm, simply because they are more focused and disciplined than most teams early on, but as the season builds others tend to get closer to playoffs that's why the bears are always difficult in the playoffs, but the bears might show some offense this year, I wouldn't make any bets against them, they have pure goal scorers this year several and they are only going to be as weak as their own discipline, effort and attitude and that might take until Feb to develop. They may or may not lack goaltending, big unknown for them, if they play well, this could be their year but no one knows what to expect of them.

I think wb has the offense and experience to match hm this year, they are at least equal in nets, but the hm D is very experienced and though I don't know much about the wb D, I doubt they are at the same level. If the wb scorers put on a show, watch out, otherwise the edge goes to hm's d which wins games, though anything can happen in one game.
Birkinbine will be returning for the Duluth East tilt this weekend I believe.

As for Hills goal tending, Shaugnessy hasn't looked that strong so far this year. I think that HM's forwards and D have kept their team in the game more than their tending and I think WBLs fluid goal scorers will be able to put enough past him.
WBL's top D both have at least 3 years experience, and the lower lines have a bit too. Freshman D Lance Carney(sp?) has looked pretty solid so far this year, and sophomore RJ Majkozak, while small in stature, hits pretty dang hard, and can handle his special team position pretty well.

WBL's goaltending has been questionable before the the season, but sophomore Jared Schletty has done a decent job between the pipes. It will be interesting to see how he fairs against an offensively charged team like HM. Some may argue that Roch. Century and Hastings aren't really ability proving games, I've seen him make some pretty good saves on good scoring chances.

What everyone has to remember is that this is a rivalry game. Each team wants to win. Bad. Let's see who will step up, and brings their all.

This is gonna be an epic game.
His brother Pete was a pretty darn good player on the '03 and '05 state teams, but I haven't gotten to see RJ play yet, how is he?
Except that Pete was a 4th liner in '03 meaning that he hardly played.

Besides, Pete was only good in his senior year.

No matter what his brother did this kid can play. I watched him play against rochester century and he definitely impressed me. He quarterbacked their first powerplay with brandon wallin and showed his skills. Also he got a very good amount of ice time on the penalty kill. Him and the freashmen D Lance Carney will be very good for the Bears.

Okay, Okay of course you wouldn't let that one go wbmd, but the point I was trying to make was that his brother was a good player, and hopefully RJ will have a solid career at White Bear also.

Two nights now. :D

I feel bad for all you White Bear fans, getting your hopes up and all. The higher they are, the harder you fall. South campus might be a really depressing place come Wednesday after expectations meet big time reality Tuesday night.
