Yes, Happy for now!! lolGoldfishdude wrote:There.... now, I guess we can say we have a HappyHockeyFan, eh, HappyHockeyFan?
Good for you. But who said I don't have any respect for Roseau? Sure I think they tend to be overrated somewhat but that doesn't mean I don't have respect for their program. For a tiny school like them to even be ranked in AA is pretty impressive to me. With the easy schedule they play, its very hard to determine where they actually belong in the rankings; I tend to place them lower than most people. I do have respect for Roseau though.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Based on your screen name your opinion means nothing to me because you obviously dont have any respect for one of the best programs in the history of Minnesota high school hockey.Roseauverrated wrote:There's no need to quote 6 posts in 1 message, especially when it's right after the one you're quoting.
My bet is Eagan remains mediocre at best throughout the next few years. I'm sorry but I just don't have much respect for them.
Pardon?HappyHockeyFan wrote:Nobody EVER said on this thread that Eagan was better than Jefferson....

I would have Eagan in the top ten and Jefferson lower than them.
I totally agree, you just do not win in Braemar especially if you are EP. Historically that would bear out as well for EP when traveling to Breamar. Put these 2 on a different sheet of ice and see what occurs. EP plummets on what should be an expected loss, maybe it is the 5-3 margin of victory (do not know)? With everyone gunning for the reigning champ you have to bring it every night. Back to the rankings boys.Moving on to other topics; I am surprised to see the defending state champion Eden Prairie Eagles lower than anyone who's lost a game. Their one loss is their most recent game, away and by 2 to the team last year many said was the best team in state. I'd put them #2 right behind Tonka (and would've had them ahead until their loss).
Dude, the obvious point was that there is at least one yahoo here insisting Eagan should be ranked higher than Jefferson.HShockeywatcher wrote:Slap Shot, you have to be kidding. My comment was written after his.
Good job for beating a tough Jefferson team on their home ice. There, there's some credibility for you.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Nobody EVER said on this thread that Eagan was better than Jefferson or that they would be come seasons end. Just asking for some credibility after being better than Jefferson for one night on Jeffersons home ice..so relax.
You like to point out this seasons results with regards to Eagan but you want to ignore that fact with Jefferson. They have dismantled everybody but Eagan. They aren't ranked where they are because of past history. Your opinion on this topic belongs in a toilet and let's be thankful you aren't in charge of rankings.HShockeywatcher wrote:If it were me, I'd probably have Eagan right below CDH and Jefferson somewhere in the 10-15 range. So no, I wouldn't have Eagan as a top 3 team or anything, probably 9 or 10.

There's no try required. Some yahoo thinks Eagan should be rated higher than Jefferson while every other indicator suggests they're not presently within a handful of spots of them.HShockeywatcher wrote:Hopefully the last comment on this topic...
My question is this--what argument do you have against using the past? (And by this, I mean the very recent past, not the state titles Jefferson won when I was a toddler. Why would you recommend not using my knowledge of how well this team did last year, and what they've brought back from that group?)HShockeywatcher wrote:3. Not to say you're wrong for giving ranking to a team for history, but pointing out other ranking systems who do as well doesn't make it right.
You have to. It's impossible to rank teams this early in the season without looking at what they return and what they lost. Now that teams have played almost 10 games, obviously it's more important to look at results, too. I don't think an upset this early in the year is important at all.karl(east) wrote:My question is this--what argument do you have against using the past? Eagan should be around 10. They crushed again today 8-1 over Armstrong. Running time the whole 3rd period.schwang17 wrote:You like to point out this seasons results with regards to Eagan but you want to ignore that fact with Jefferson. Well unfortunatly it's not looking any better for my Eagles at the moment. They beat Burnsville 3-2 in OT on tuesday and Tonka is coming up. We better get it together fast or else...northwoods oldtimer wrote:I totally agree, you just do not win in Braemar especially if you are EP. Since when does beating Armstrong mean you have very good team? Armstrong is terrible, it's expected anyone decent will beat them. Until Eagan can post another win over an elite team, I'm leaving them where they are now.besthockeyfan wrote: Eagan should be around 10. They crushed again today 8-1 over Armstrong. And Edina should be #1 they crushed SLP 17-0! Running time the whole 3rd! Jefferson should be top 2 they crushed Eastview 11-1!!! Give me a break. A win like that doesn't show too much, be happy that Eagan is being given top 20 rank.besthockeyfan wrote:Eagan should be around 10. They crushed again today 8-1 over Armstrong.
