I agree on the prospects...the Gophs are doing fine in the recruiting wars...and always will. Who exactly have we truly missed out on? Were we always recruiting the right ones? Good question..but it's not an exact science. But I'm sure we get most everyone we want.
I think there were a couple of Minnesotan's on the World Junior Championship team that would have looked nice in Maroon and Gold.
So were Stephan, Kastro, and Gardiner all offered full rides and they turned down the Gophers?? I doubt it...
Its Stepan, Kristo, and Gardiner. It would be nice to know if they did get offered anything from the Gophers.

And Kristo would have been on EP last year as well if he hadn't left for juniors...just think how good they would have been with him, Jason Clark, Alec Rush, and Leddy on top of the whole class of '11.

What coach wouldn't take these odds??? Just wondering, Leddy and Curt Rau teaming up as a pair from a State of Minnesota High School Tournament winning in 2009 team at EP. Teaming Curt with Leddy again?? Botton line, both of these kids need to be in maroon and gold. CC has an edge with Chad having a pretty good career at CC. The DON has lost a number of top Minnesota High School kids to Colorado, St.Cloud, No.Dak and Wisconsin. Please look in to this.

The problem with your statement is you never set any odds. What are the odds that Curt becomes a four year contributing d-man in the WCHA? Unless we see a different player stepping on the ice each game, I'd say slim to none. Curt and Leddy won a high school championship. That's great but a lot different than WCHA competition. Leddy, obviously up to the task, but have you ever noticed coaches pair up their best Defenseman with their worst? I'm not trying to call you an idiot because I don't know you, I just can't fathom what you're seeing that I don't.

Sorry, I have to disagree with your statement. There were a lot of less talented defensive partners to skate with the Leddy kid. Curt provided the balance here. Last years team used their defense for scoring. This years team doesn't use the defense.

Just think if Kristo would have stayed at home, Rush, Thompson, Clark, Patterson, Meyer, Mooney and so on, this EP team may have gone un-defeated, but never happened. EP is still ranked as a higher seed to defending the title. They just need to get by Tonka.
