Don't forget the ST Lakeville contingent as well, Crandall, Reid, Schroeder, Kroska Mckneely and Graveline are all lakeville kids as well.

regardless of the players they lost or how good they could be if they had one school, South still has the firepower to do some damage in the tournament if they make it

While I do wish they'd do something small to make 1AA a little stronger, let's give Lakeville South some credit. I didn't rank them 16th in my last set of rankings out of charity. Their regular season achievements are just as good as, if not better than, the teams that will come out of sections 8 and 3; maybe section 4 if Hill gets upset.

There is a legit team in 1AA this year. Only one, but one nonetheless. It's a shame they aren't getting much recognition for that.

Thanks for the quality post East. More people need to get over themselves and realize that Section 1AA will have a quality team in the tourney in South and if North upsets, they will have a team that has proven they can skate with the top schools (just ask Jefferson).

Like I've said before, Souths only flaw is their goaltending. They werent necessarily outplayed in all of these games. Against eagan, who was a top 10 team, they only lost by one and outplayed them IMO. And you didnt mention some of their games such as a 7-2 win over Cretin. I'm not arguing that South is a top ten team, I'm only trying to say that they have the talent to surprise some people, assuming they win on friday.

If North plays like they did both times against Jefferson, I don't think South has a chance.

Hopkins tied Edina, lost to Wayzata in OT and gave Benilde a run in their Quarters. CDH is a 19 win team losing to Woodbury 2-1 in the semis. I really feel bad for you Das that your team was bumped in the quarters, but your jealousy of Section 1AA teams is just pathetic.

All I'm saying is it shouldn't be ridiculously easy for some teams to win their section while other teams actually have to prove themselves worthy. Distribute the talented teams across all sections.

That may just be the most idiotic statement outside of anything Lakeviewing posts. By the way, how many points did you record on that Minnetonka JV team this year? Do yourself a favor, start a thread entitled "Section 6AA and 2AA; How great are we?" and spew all your garbage thoughts about how great you are and how everyone else should bow down. That way you and Lakeviewing can stroke each others ego and feel good about yourselves. Stay out of the other threads and just ENJOY hockey and let others enjoy it as well.

You act like the winner of this section should just say "gee we really dont deserve to be at the X this year, maybe we should just roll over and forfeit?" Give me a break, both of the Lakeville teams are worthy of possibly pulling off an upset this year. Dont bash the teams, because they deserve to be there and have worked hard for it. If you're going to get mad, take it out on the MSHSL. Nobody wants to read you constantly whining about how section 1 is a joke and shouldnt be represented at the tourney. Believe it or not, you can judge a team based on their scores from the 25+ games they've played this season. How do you think Karl and most other people do their rankings? Do they go to every game? Looking at the results, Lakeville South looks like a decent team, could get passed the first round in state if they get a lucky draw, all the other teams in 1AA are terrible and wouldn't stand a chance.

Seems odd that in the midst of all this pounding 1aa is taking nobody has mentioned the similarities to 3aa. Woodbury has been inconsistent and has a similar record to souths, apple valley is 1-1 with south and finished behind them in conference play. Is the difference that great? I'll agree that both lakeville schools are fortunate to be where they are but can't we just get over it allready.

So what is it from the 25+ game JV schedule that Minnetonka plays tells you that they would reach the 1AA finals? Where does Karl have tonka's JV team ranked? The Minnetonka JV comment was based mostly on the terrible record most teams in 1AA have against other bad teams in the state. It was more of an estimate based on the strength of the Tonka varsity team that their JV team would be able to compete with the low end of the varsity teams in the state. It certainly is possible they could make it to the final of 1AA, not saying they would win it. It isn't nearly as absurd of a statement as some I've heard on here.

Regardless, this argument clearly isn't going anywhere so why don't we just agree to disagree and let the games play out.

my team is still in it why are you defending this poor section soo much? The teams in 1aa and 3aa section finals should be soo happy right now. They would all have been elimated by now in section 2aa and 6aa

lakeville norths girls team scrimmaged the boys earlier this year and they only lost 4-3 so....
