After watching the rebroadcast, I have concluded Osseo/Maple Grove was robbed. OMG's Poor goalie let in two very questionable goals, and the EGF goalie played great.

Grand Rapids looked good. Very steady team, not many mistakes and good goalie. Burnsville made a run for it at the end and had GR on their heels. Very fun game to watch. Rapids scored a couple of easy goals to get ahead 4-1.
OMG looked like they were skating in quicksand. Not what I expected from them. EGF got a gift on their first goal and 2nd goal was nice! Hung on to beat a charging, but too late, team from Osseo Maple Grove. Surprise game of the day! Usually one of those in the state tournament.
Woodbury took a while against Cloquet. Cloquet was up 3-2 after 2 periods, but looked beat. Cloquet plays #7, #11, #15 and #10 all of the time. They looked gas and Woodbury dominated play from 2nd period on. Woodbury scored late power play goal and an empty netter to win 5-3.
Wayzata looked very good and convincing in their win over Elk River. Will have to play Woodbury tomorrow in semis. Will be a very good game!!
Very entertaining first day of action. Only prediction that was wrong was EGF over OMG. EGF played well and deserved the win!
I still see Grand Rapids versus Woodbury in the finals. Woodbury has beaten Wayzata twice this year, but that doesn't matter anymore. One game takes it all and gives two of the teams a chance to play for the Bantam A State Tournament Championship!!

EGF's second goal was from the outside hash, not in a corner, almost in the middle of the net. Not many people will consider that a good goal.

They do have a solid team.....But everything went right for them today. Every bounce was in their favor.

EGF has been to state before and will again. No fluke here CityFolk.
Ya gotta love the single A teams beating the "combined city teams"
Every goal is a fluke I would say - odds are a goalie will save most shots.
Keep whining and stick around and watch the winning bracket.
Cloquet could easily whine about the poor penalty calls on there loss- they were beating Woddbury after 2. You dont see any whining there - just me trying to make a point about you whiners!!!

Consolation Action:
Osseo/Maple Grove 5
Burnsville 3
"Ya gotta love the single A teams beating the 'combined city teams' "
Osseo/Maple Grove Bantam "A" doesn't have one Osseo player on their roster. Just a heads up.

Yes, and he will be going to Maple Grove High School.
EDIT: I was referring to players attending Osseo Senior High.

Generally that's what happens to a good team.

Figured that would happen...EGF didn't have the bounces they got on Friday I am assuming? I would have loved to see an OMG Grand Rapids game...I heard their first contest was quite the spectacle.

OMG is a very very good team, I didnt get to see the OMG_EGF game but I did watch OMG play Burnsville and OMG played solid again. GR -vs- OMG would have been a dandy.

I would say Rapids, all they have to do is get after number 9 then woodbury loses. Cloquet should of had them. Rapids will win!

I think OMG proved today that they should've been on the right side of the bracket.

Being from bloomington and watching the games. I dont understand all these omg fans on here crying over losing to east side. The game yesterday was absolutly even with egf getting a little more chances and capitalizing on them. OMG didn't start playing like they mostly due untill five minutes to go in the game. So stop crying and give EGF the credit they deserve for WINNING the game. To back EGF up a little for todays game the had to kill 8 grand rapids powerplays and only got 3 penalty called for them, and still grand rapids only outshot them by 10. Todays game against rapids was pretty darn close actually in 5 on 5 play. To finalize my post East Grand Forks (pop. 7,500) 2 Maple Grove (pop. 60,000) 1
