Thanks Jet. How did the East Veiw goalie look? Did you notice?

Mostly good. Should be a good 3rd place game today against Jefferson - they tied in pool play with Jefferson scoring late in the 3rd to tie it. Stillwater took care of Cloquet in pool play 6-1 but I would expect a bit closer today, but the Cloquet goalie will need to step up. Cloquet has a nice BIG first line that caused all the trouble yesterday for EV.

With the season having started and some scores in the books. How do you think things are looking now as opposed to preseason?

Forest Lake is struggling. Lost all three at North Metro.

The spark plug that moved in from NB should be playing with the A's.

I haven't seen him skate. Is he doing well with the B's?

I'm sure he's doing very well for the B's.

Knowing the talent they have in Edina this year and talking to a few parents there it looks like all will be chasing them this year. They have pretty high expectations coming in.
Other west side teams that look good are Wayzata and EP. As usual Wayzata has a deep team for sure with nearly all second year players (I think only 1 first year this year)!
STMA, Elk River and Centennial should be best in the North/West metro.
Stillwater and WBL in the east. I talked to both a WBL and a Stillwater Parent and both their teams should be good and both did well in their tourneys over the weekend. Stillwater's website says they gave up only one goal in 5 games in Brooklyn park. Looked like a little weaker competition however. I do know WBL is returning several players this year and Stillwater has no returners so I would give WBL the advantage in the east side. Websites say they play each other Sunday so that should tell us a lot there! Stillwater parent said they are smaller this year and they have 5 1st years this year which they have not had in at least 4 or 5 years. That tells me they may be a little up and down.
Anyone see any of the other teams out there. I haven't heard anything from those up north or in the south.

Does anyone know anything about the Cottage Grove Squirt A team? In a tourney later this year that they are in and don't know anything about them. Just curious.

White Bear beat Forest Lake 1-0 on Thursday in what was a surprisingly good game. FL have themselves a good goalie. If they get straightened out offensively, they could be a factor.

I was at the WBL vs FL game. One sided. Shots were 45 to 5. [thats from the dad keeping The book. Our goalie played great. F.L. kids never gave up. WBL much better right now. It's a long season and they are just squirts.

Need Henry Sibley in this mix of top ten and maybe even higher.

Big Squirt "Holiday tourneys" in Edina and EP

2 big squirt tourneys coming up in Eden Prairie and Edina.
EP Tourney
White Pool - EP, GF Supras, Rochester, Mankato
Black Pool - Jefferson, Lakeville, OMG, Buffalo
White Pool - Edina, Minnetonka, Rosemount, Woodbury
Good looking tourny...Edina and EP must be favorites (EP gave themselves a good draw which is to be expected). Black pool looks weaker than White pool to me.
Edina Invitational
Pool A - Edina, Elk River, EP, STMA, OMG
Pool B - Stillwater, Blaine, Andover, Fargo Flyers, Eagan
So much for giving yourself the easy road...Pool A looks much tougher. Picking Edina and STMA out of the top and Stillwater and Blaine out of the bottom.
I am guessing Edina wins both tourneys...but you never know that is why they play them!
A few teams we haven't heard much about yet this year are OMG, Tonka, Woodbury, Eagan, Rochester and Rosemount will get a chance to show what they can do.

Edina , stma, eastview, and omg have looked good when i seen them. Forest lake is struggling a little and I think Minnetonka will come on a little here. I like wayzata as well. Chaska was over hyped and don't seem to have entered themselves in any competitive turnies yet. Watch for centennial to turn it on as the year goes on.

Has anyone seen Sibley play yet?? I keep hearing that they have a nice team.

Sibley has a very nice team. My team scrimmaged them early on this season, and they have a few very good players. It was high scoring for both teams, but if they tighten up their goaltending, they will be tough this year.

Edina definately front runner, beat EP 7-0 this weekend. My guess they will have very few challanges this year. Deep high end talent.
After Edina it looks like Wayzata, STMA, Elk River in the west are pretty tough, in the east it looks like Stilllwater and Sibley?.
FYI...I believe Roseville played sibley to a tie in a scrimmage and Roseville is not having a great year. They did say that Sibley had a few very good players!
After new years with the EP, Edina and NSP tourneys we will know a lot! Anyone know who is in NSP tourney besides Wayzata and NSP?

Forest Lake, and I think tonka.
