I believe that Minnesota Made used the name The Attack for a team they put together for the 2000 level at the Stars and Stripes Invite level this year. Maybe the same?

Maybe they can get more out of a weekend of practice than winning 8-1 or 10-0. Or maybe (I hope not) something happened to someone (an accident or sickness)! Wouldn't that make you feel stupid???! The 2000 Machine is a respectable team, they have TONS of kids who want to play for them, which is more than I can say for a lot of other teams who have to scrounge around to find players.

Almost everyone I have known who has played for the machine lost their passion for hockey by the time they got into high school. Sure it sounds like a good idea as a young player, but it's just too much hockey. I would rather play B1hockey and enjoy it than play A hockey and feel overworked anyday.
Spoken like a true B1 player. Most people that played or play A hockey are competetive as heck and will do whatever it takes to play A - including playing ALL THE TIME.
How many players that have played under the "Machine" name are in high school? I believe the 95 Machine was the first "Machine" team since the Minnesota 88's (Best team to ever play in Minnesota), and 95 born players were in 8th and 9th grade last year. Off the '95 Machine Team, there are many good players that are making a name for themselves. Off the 95 Machine/Breakaway 6 players made the National Camp out in New York for Selects. For the Blades, 7 players made the National Camp as well. That is a pretty amazing number. (Not including Icemen and Machine players playing in the NAHL tournament last fall)

The Blades and the Machine have the best track record for producing high caliber hockey players. Every player that aspires to play Division I hockey should attempt to develop on one of these teams.

I for one am disappointed that the Machine are not playing. Would have LOVED to see them "clean up" Wish the Blades were also playing and would have loved to see them "clean up." Guess we will have to hope Torspo cleans up in their pool! Especially game 1 Thursday!

Aren't both the Machine and Blades playing in the Caribou Cup and isn't that tourney fielding a much deeper and better overall field of teams? So whats the big deal.....

Who's was the Brain-Wizard that put this tournament schedule together?

Was it King-Pin Capra? He should of put down the dounuts and paid more attention to detail.

There are some teams playing 3 games over 3 days and then he has some teams playing 3 games in 24 hours, would love to hear the explanation on that :?: :?:

The clueless expro! 14 skaters but 1 sick and one played for Synergy so 3 of first 5 games played with 12. Ran out of gas, are you kiding? One OT loss to one of your strong starting and finishing teams in a game the Iceman dominated the 2nd period and played very even in the 3rd (came out flat in first) so you make zero sense (shots in the game were very very close). Of note for your information more balanced scoring for the Iceman team as well this w/e (despite all being out of gas). Great tournament for the Iceman. Great bunch of kids, parents and coaches - do I need to say it again for you?

Know one is saying they aren't a great bunch of kids. They are! The coach? Shouldn't be coaching kids. Some of the parents??? Clicky and egotistical. Good thing they are all friends from previous teams, 'cuz no one else would play for this guy.

We'll agree to disagree - different strokes for different folks. My gut says you will see some of these other kids from these other teams playing for the Iceman/coach in years to come but time will tell. Thx.

The guy runs a good practice. He yells to much though for how old the kids are.

We'll disagree again. Are you at the practices on a regular basis this year?

Like mghockey18, he run's a good practice, but yells way to much, and breaks sticks at practice. I've walked over and watched a prctice, during my son's practice @ E.P.. Don't be blind to fact....Why are so many people saying this, if the history wasn't there. Just a question, I'm outside looking in.

No. Only when I am at Maple Grove and they happen to be there.

From the '96 level to the '01 level, 90% of a coaches practice should be devoted to individual player development. The other 10% can be devoted to teaching proper breakouts, neutral zone fore check, proper ways how to fore check in the offensive zone...etc.

Kids are only going to make minimal strides skating on ice during the few months of the summer. If they are the RIGHT age to start dry land training, that is where you will see the greatest improvement in a player over the summer. USA Hockey has great Athlete Construction programs and Player Development videos that can assist these needs.

Not blind (I hope). If so I haven't seen it nor heard that it has happened this year, possible - yes. Last year - probably. But different environment, expectations, etc. etc. than last year - glad my 9 year old recognized the heart and passion and that people can change. We think he's great! But I understand if you don't.

Maybe the pressure to win [ blades] was a bit much last year. People can change and get better, even hockey people.

Glad you are experiencing a good time. You must be one of his friends in his circle. Or shall I say his followers. We were completely misled by this coach. Yes, I know for a fact he breaks sticks, yells at the kids and benches kids if they make mistakes during games. Yet, we heard, oh, he never benches kids he is sooooo into development that's all the matters. Yet when they played the blades they sure wanted to win awful bad so he played one line for most of the game. Every game in every tournament is all about winning...make a mistake and your out. Unless you are part of his click you "ain't" gonna cut it on his team.

If you are who I think you are you have no credibility with me. You need to look in the mirror with respect to behavior at the rink. Thx.
