Becker doesn't count yet I guess....

I have seen the Blizzard, Mora, Minneapolis, Pine City and Becker play in person this year so the rest is speculation.
Becker plays every1 twice tho in the 2RC and don't play the M8 schedule twice like the rest of the teams in the M8 do. Burnett #1 after losing? what's the logic?

greatone wrote:Honestly.... I may move them up to 3... I got to go see the game last night in Mora and neither team impressed me at all. I think the shots on net were like Blizzard 25 and Mora 15. I don't think I would call that offensive punch on either side of the puck. Very poor game from both sides, I hope for both teams it was not a best effort because if so, both teams have some serious work to do.....
Mora was down a skater which is very hurtful to a team that likes to play two lines and 3 d for most of the game, which could explain some of the sloppiness. we had shots at 20 15 and the thing that u have to remember is that u don't always need that punch. it can change depending on the type of game being played. last nite for example was a combined 35 shots and no breakaways and very few penalties. those kind of games are not won by raw scoring ability but by not making stupid mistakes and garbage goals... such as the goals that tied it for Burnett and won it for Mora

BoDangles, serious question... Is something up with North Branch? You and a couple others thought they would have a decent season and might battle for the conference. Injuries? Kids quitting? or just underperforming?

All of those things and then some..... The biggest problem the last few years have been penalties. They led the state in penalty minutes last year and they were still one of the states top five teams in scoring. Playing a man down for a period and a half a game alone will get them where they're at, but they do have the talent to be successful. You can also blame the 5am practices. With no rink of their own many of the kids have to get up around 3:30am to catch a bus to get them to Chisago Lakes Arena....... And now they go to school longer with the four day school week. In my opinion this is madness..

There has been a group of parents and staff from both North Branch and St Francis that have been pushing for these two to combine their programs. I heard that this years juniors and sophomores had a pretty dominant group in District 10 when they were merged as PeeWees, but we both know how the same talk panned out with CINB...... I never understood why a CI or a St.F wouldn't jump after a school like NB to strengthen their program. It sure has helped Elk River to have Zimmerman HS to bolster their talent. I guess we'll see what the future brings.

there was. from Mora=Humphrey, Martin, Pasillas, Peterson, and two others were honorable mention, but I can't remember who. Mora had more all-conference than any other team
