Hill Murray has 11 kids on the roster that at some point have made it to NY in the USA advanced program plus another that was an alternate. No other program comes close. Still they are just a good team, not a great team. They should be better than they are. We will see if they get there.
It's like saying a kid played on a AAA team during the off-season. These kids may not be the best kids, but their parents were willing to pay the money for the kid to participate. These "11" kids are not the best kids for their age group, but good enough to participate and their parents opted to pay for the experience. Hill's roster is not full of a bunch of superstar hockey players that are gonna be hounded by D1 scouts. Their strength is that their "bottom" is still strong and not a liability. There are no great teams any more, but several very good teams, and HM is one of them.
True! These kids seem to be cursed when they go to Hill Murray.......... Very few D-1 in the last 5-10 years. Even Forest Lake, being an "average program", has put out more D-1 talent the last few years.

What did those FL D1 players think of their state tournament experience? FL had 3 last yr I believe & HM had 1. Seems to me Lex is doing more with less.

Wasn't aware there was a "fake route" thru section 7. All Flake had to do was beat a few public schools to get to state with those D1 guys. Instead, they got spanked...in the semis....by a team that got spanked in the finals. Cursed or average?

But I hear Flake's program is strong and Aaron is such a great coach. One would expect more with a team of 3 D1 guys and a dynamite feeder program. They should of at least score a goal in a section semi.

Hills success has everything to do with depth, Lechner is a fine coach but when you don't have to worry about matching up or over playing your top guys it make your job much easier. Other than the large programs Hill is one of the few schools with this advantage. No axe to grind with Hill but they cut kids every year that could play almost anywhere else.
