Cretin beat Edina around this time last year, too.

Might just be Edina's annual late January struggles, might mean CDH just knows how to beat Edina. Or there may actually be a flaw...

Easily Schneider's best game of the year in goal. He came up big a few times in the 3rd including a breakaway. Very physical game!

I wouldn't call the Totino win a jaw-dropping upset....

Not jaw dropping, but they are coming off a 9-2 loss. I'd also like to know the last time Breck lost back to back class A games.

Or, might mean time to drop Edina in your next week's ratings...

I already whacked them harder than most of the other rankings last week--having seen them, I do have my doubts about Edina. That said, there is an awful lot of talent and a lot of depth there. They could easily round into shape. I do suspect they'll drop again, but the way this year has gone I shouldn't say anything too early...

Does this mean the SEC might get some lovin in your next rankings? Didn't Stillwater beat Tonka earlier this year also.

No teams in the top 15....come on man!

Classic Edina meltdown. Bad behavior once again. 11 penalties when the goal is zero. Last two goals allowed shorthanded. This Edina class of players has a history of bad behavior. I watched them piss away the Bantam A State title game 3 years ago when they were in a 1 goal game with EP and then started a steady parade to the box. A state Championship game, a one goal deficit, and they start taking bone headed penalties?

One of two things. Either the coach has lost control and the team is reflecting his behavior. Or, since the coach has a non-stop parade from JV to varsity and then back down to JV the kids are competing so hard to keep their spots they're playing overly physical and ending up in the box.

I don't want to discredit Cretin but an embarrassing result for Edina tied directly to behavior. Players fault? Or, the coaches fault for not picking a team and sticking with it?

It would be easy to fault Giles here but I'm not convinced its his fault. In 40 years of watching Edina youth and high school teams this group is without doubt the most undiciplined. They have a great deal of skill but still seem determined to pummel the opposition rather than out play them. My guess is that when it really matters Edina will clean up their act and play much better.
