I hope not.

It would just be more senseless bickering.

9-0 BSM...can't wait to hear Pat Micheletti's rant tomorrow on KFAN regarding blow-out Section Final (and now) State Tourney games on beyond the pond.

And it ends at 10-1. Wow. Impressive game by the Red Knights, that's for sure.

Did 42 percent of the people really think Lakeville would win?

Maybe it was 42% who thought that South would beat the point spread.

Last night South gives up a softie and pulls it together, tonight a real soft one followed by another soft one, and they look like a team out of 3A, one good player and well even 3A teams usually get some goaltending.

This wasn't all on the goalies though, the defense was bad and when South did have chances they couldn't convert. Strangely South was out shooting and out playing Benilde until that 3rd goal went in (shots were 7-4 South yet they were down 3-0) then it was just a shooting gallery for BSM for the rest of the way.

Despite the outcome of this game. Great season for Lakeville South. Excited to see Kloos on the Gophers!

yep, not sure if it mattered but after kloos missed the breakaway and benilde turns it back into a goal it was over, you could almost see the air come out of them. Benilde's speed up front overwhelmed souths d and they would have needed Marty Broduer to have a chance. The nice thing is nobody can take yesterday away from them, a memeory they will have for a lifetime. Lets hope they can forget about tonight and play a little better tomorrow.

Yes he did. He also coached Wayzata for a year or so before Davis I believe.

Is anyone else concerned about Kloos going directly to the Gophers next year? He is small and really struggled the last two nights. Not a physical player and floats a lot waiting for the puck. He has great vision on the ice and nice speed, but watching him the last several days, he in no way is ready for the WCHA next year.

The Gophers also have a guy named Kyle Rau, ever heard of him? Who turned out to have a great freshman yr (all wcha rookie team) with a lot of people having the same concerns. This was clearly the first time you have seen him play. He dominated the elite league last fall and had a pretty solid 10+ games in the USHL last spring after the HS season was over. He is not afraid to play physical either. between the elite league, USHL and HS season Im sure Lucia and co have seen him play enough and have made up their mind whether or not a straight jump to the wcha is the right move.

Ps. Last night was the first game ALL yr kloos hasn't registered a pt (including the entire elite league season). Not too many other players can say that. Oh wait, that's right...NO one can. Anything less than mr hockey is a snub.

I have seen him a couple other times this year. I saw Kyle play many times last year and this year. I think Kloos is a nice player, but his game level is not where Kyle was last year. Kyle also brings a more physical style of play both last year and this year. Keep in mind that Kyle has slowed down once they got into the WCHA season. Kyle will end up having a very nice career at the University. Kloos could as well, but he would benefit from going to the juniors for a year. Pardon me if I don't trust Don's decisions on recruiting :D

Not sure if he is ready or not and the decision has not been made. Not so sure he truggled the last two games, he was souths best player last night. Justin is a bright kid, if you have seen him play in the USHL, he plays a much different style. I'll be the first to agree he spends to much time up high right now but that comes from being counted on to carry the scoring load. He played very well defensively in Waterloo. Like sats said, if you were able to catch some of the elite league games you might see things differently. I hope he does well in the future but only time will tell.

I could be wrong, but I thought when they talked about his stats they said he registered a point in every game he's played in.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the huge difference. Rau was on the best team in the state that would've been a top team without him, while without Kloos his team would've been terrible. It was similar to teams shutting down Judd Peterson this year.

You take that same player who can control a whole game and put him on the ice with other players like him a lot changes. That being said, I won't disagree that a year of juniors could always help.

As keepyourheadup says the decision on whether to bring Kloos in as a freshman next year has not been made. I heard Lucia say that it depends on what happens with the rest of the lineup, meaning I think how many other players (if any) decide to leave the program for the pros or for any other reason. Reading between the lines I guess you could gather that Don would rather have him play juniors for a year, but he may need him next season depending on what else happens.

Which is unfortunate. It would be great to see which of these teams (MN and ND come to mind) would be the best if players next left. Imagine the current team plus Ness, or still having Shroeder the last two years. There are a handful of other gophers who've left as well.

Really struggled the last two games? I really don't think that's a fair assessment. Thursday night they matched up against the top team in the state, he had the first assist on the first goal and the game winning EN goal in the third in one of the biggest upsets in recent history. I think most players in the state would be happy to "really struggle" like that.

That's what I said. Until last night, had registered at least a pt in every single game this yr including the entire elite league schedule. Not to mention had a pt in every game but 3 last yr. Great HS career, will be a solid 4 yr player for the U.

If you ask me, Ness was a major dissapointment at the U. Schroeder on the other hand was a complete cancer, and made a huge mistake leaving early. Just ask the brass at Vancouver what they think of that pick now.
