Sparlimb, I'm not sure what in my statement you are disagreeeing. with. All or part of it? Are you worried that Peasly could turn things around and Hill might not get the blue chip player from North anymore?

He seems to just be happy that only kids with money are able to play hockey these days.

It was tongue-in-cheek. I grew up a NSP fan, so I'd be happy to see them get a stronger program and compete again. Although you are correct, demographics are working against them. Having Hill so close doesn't help either.
I was no JD fan either. He had some decent teams that looked poorly coached. Hoping for the best for the new coach.

Waconia has a bright future. Bantams were a strong bunch last year.

Peasly is in for a tough go of it. The NSP Youth Association is entering a Co op with Johnson/Como due to dwindling numbers. JD is getting out while the getting good so to speak. Too bad he didn't get out about 10 years ago, as some very good hockey players talents were wasted, or they just left to avoid playing under that staff.

Final thoughts on NSP. My kid had the coach as a teacher. He did nothing in the classroom and kids were pretty much left on their own. Exactly how he coached. Also, why didn't the NSP athletic director take some action years ago? He is of equal blame. It will only be a matter of time before NSP co-ops with Tartan.

Negative. The Girls teams formed Armstrong-Cooper Girls Hockey...that is a co-op. There will be no Armstrong-Cooper Boys co-op.....it's just Armstrong. The Cooper boys will be allowed to go over and play with Armstrong but there will be no Cooper name associated with it. We may be arguing semantics but co-ops usually have both schools names in it. Examples are Dassel-Cokato, Glencoe-Silver Lake, etc.

Strongly disagree. That program was in the dumps until Janne came in and turned it back into a top 10 team year in and year out. Good players, yes, but he's not average. You'll see him at the next level soon. Very well respected amongst other coaches, and rightfully so.

As long as semantics are on the table, DC and GSL are each examples of consolidated school districts, not co-ops. LDC would have been a better example of a co-op.

regardless of what the school wants to call it, in order for Cooper and Armstrong students to play on the same team, they have to apply to the MSHSL for what the league calls a "cooperative sponsorship."

I'm not sure why District 622 decided to rebuild NSP. Their other plan at the time was to build a mega school, combine NSP and Tartan (and the property was right next to HM). To me that would have been the smarter choice, but alas they decided to stay with 2 smaller schools instead.

He backed into a good situation year one, went to state riding one line.
Holy Angels beat Edina so he didn't have to.
Hasn't won a significant game since then.
