Assuming everyone else wins and Mahtomedi beats Hermantown on Saturday, is your opinion that Mahtomedi simply leap frogs the teams in front of them, becomes #1 and everyone slides down a spot or is your opinion that Breck is our new #1 and Hermantown slides down below Mahtomedi?
Both trains of thought are similarly valid.
The only Class A loss among the current top 5 is still Apollo to Breck in OT.
If Hermantown loses to Mahtomedi on Saturday, which I think they will, Breck goes to 1, Mah to 2 and Herm to 3. I think Mahtomedi wins state this year.
Breck goes to 1 and Apollo, who lost to Breck in OT, goes to 4 or 5?
Their 1 other loss is on the road by a smaller margin than Hermantown loss to the same team.
In Apollo's last 9 games they have an OT loss to Breck, a 5-1 Sartell win and 7 shut outs...
If Mahtomedi wins, Hermantown should drop below Apollo to 4 or 5, depending where you put Hibbing. Breck at 1 Mahtomedi/Apollo at 2/3. You can justify Hermantown behind Apollo, because Apollo played a tighter game with Bemidji than Hermantwon did. I don't think that you can drop Apollo when they haven't lost or done anything to lose their 3 spot.

Well let's just make it easy. Hermantown will beat WBL on Friday night and Mahtomedi on Saturday. Hermantown will remain at #1.

Boy the more I think about it, could this be the best class A regular season game of the year?

Big weekend for Sec 7 & 8. TRF really is the class of sec8 this season and sec7 gets to see how they stack up with 2 of the top 3 sec 8 teams. I am torn on wanting to see Trf and Mahtomedi. This is one of the biggest weekends of the year.
