Thats a bummer for hibbing, Ullen was an important piece it seemed.

Any reason why they have the lengthy HP16 tryout process right after they decide on a national roster? Wouldn't this process be a better way to put all players under the microscope? Seems backwards..

YHH also tweeted that the Blades 16U team won the season series over National Champ SSM. Most of the eval camp commits came from 16U teams. Makes you wonder how many invites would be out of Minnesota with more open policies..

Nothing in the HP program makes much sense.

Because scouting players over the course of two full seasons makes more sense than basing decisions on a couple weekend all-star camps.

What exactly do you mean by "more open policies"? Minnesota kids definitely weren't watched any less than anybody else. If anything, they're probably more closely watched.

Because two years and then you have a massive tryout at the end .... You might as well use the massive tryout, too.., right?

Let the Minnesota kids play in the national playoffs.. All the more exposure.. The national playoff system is USA Hockey's baby.. Kinda like the CHL is the NHL's baby.

1. It was just a simple question that probably has a logical answer.

2. I'm not against the Minnesota model, but there's always room for improvements. Some very positive strides were taken this year!
