D2 schools like the ones you mentioned can play at a D3 level for hockey just like all the other schools in D3, this is what UM Crookston does, they are a public college. The only rule is they cant make it to the NCAA tournament at the end of the year. But since the West usually only gets 3 teams in that tournament anyways, its not a huge deal. Those schools should get hockey.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... eHockey at: 3/8/05 9:07 pm

Back on Parenteau...

He didn't leave Breck because he didn't like it, he left because he made a USHL team and wanted to move on to the next level. I don't think that he would be a star at a D1 school right now if he had chosen to stay at Breck...or to stay at WBL from the beginning.

His problem was that he peaked at such a young age. His peewee year, he set the state record for points, but he just didn't have a lot of room to improve from there in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I think Casey is a great hockey player, and I think SJU is a perfect fit for him.

Back on topic.

I just thought i'd bring this back to the top. With the Great 8 around the corner more kids will know their plans for next year. Does anyone have any names of players who are planning on playing at D3 schools?
