LF schools already closed tomorrow and Wednesday, so no games I'm sure.

Yeah, I think this is going to be a state wide thing. Alex has already closed for those two days as well, but didn't have any games this week until Thursday and Friday.

Alexandria cancelled school today (Thursday), but this statement came out in the e-mail. The Cardinals do have a home game with Fergus Falls tonight, who has a two hour late start as of right now.

"As weather conditions are expected to improve throughout the day, high school after-school and evening practices, programs, events, and athletic games will continue as scheduled."

Big game with Brainerd at Alexandria tonight, could determine the Central Lakes Conference title. Alex won 4-1 earlier this year at Brainerd. Sartell is also in the mix, I guess, if I am following the CLC procedures correctly (4 point games and two point games).

Alexandria 10-1 20 Points [vs Brainerd (2 point game), at Sartell (2 point game), at St. Cloud (2 point game)]
Sartell 8-3 18 points [vs Alexandria (2 point game), vs. Fergus Falls (2 point game)]
Brainerd 6-1 16 Points [at Alexandria (2 point game), vs. River Lakes (4 point game)]

I honestly don't know the answer to this, but does anyone put much importance on Conference titles as compared to Section titles anymore?

I would tend to agree, I think conference titles have kind of lost their luster. I blame it on the fact that Football has gone away from Conferences altogether, and football seems to have the biggest following, overall, as far as high school athletic events go.

Pretty much just bragging rights at this point. Sections much more important for obvious reasons.

Well, it is no doubt a great achievement for whoever wins it.

Looks like the Brainerd vs Alex game was a penalty fest.

I wasn't at the game, but listened to part of it about half way through the second period. Sounded like there were 20 combined penalties at that point.....

Updated CLC Race, if I am following the CLC procedures correctly.... (edit: According to the Echo Press Article linked above, 7-1 record of Brainerd trumps the 20 points by Alexandria)

Alexandria 10-2 20 Points [at Sartell (2 point game), at St. Cloud (2 point game)]
Brainerd 7-1 18 Points [vs. River Lakes (4 point game), Brainerd did not play Willmar]
Sartell 8-3 18 points [vs Alexandria (2 point game), vs. Fergus Falls (2 point game)]

I think another reason conference titles have lost some of their luster is due to the fact that not all the teams play the same schedule, at least in the CLC. Alexandria is the only team that plays everyone twice (14 games). Brainerd is on the opposite end of the spectrum, playing only nine games and not even playing Willmar. Everyone else is somewhere in between.

Word is the Doherty got booted from the game last night for a head butt... anyone at the game last night? If that is true, that is huge for their game against Sartell tomorrow.

According to the Echo Press writeup, that was the call. I haven't had a chance to talk to the billet we have living with us, he was at the game last night.

Alexandria is closing school three hours early, all after school activities are cancelled. Not sure when Alexandria at Sartell will be made up, maybe tomorrow (Friday) night?

Looks like that will be the case... make up game is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday night) at the same time in sartell. Any word on Doherty’s status for this game?
