This thread went in to a completely different direction.
Oh well, what else is new. I don't think AHA personally recruits other than saying "hey you should come play for us if it doesnt work out where you're at" to kids they see here and there that are good. That is not recruiting in my book though because everyone does it. SSM obviously recruits so thats final.
Anyways I say we get back on topic, Prep School vs. MHSHL School

No, the thread does not get ruined when people disagree with me. It gets ruined when those people, as hastingsdangler said, take the thread into an entirely different direction. This happens in every thread because people can't just give it a rest. They created a new thread so this WOULDN'T happen, but people still cant leave it alone.

Alright, alright everyone lets just settle down on the recruiting crap. Whether you want to admit it or not this game is going to be extremely entertaining and showcase some of the top future D1 talent in the coming years. Here is some stuff I have gathered on SSM for those who have not followed them.
Record:
23-7-3
They have been playing Midget AAA teams, HS Elite League, and just recently lost three games playing some European Elite teams.

- Ben Youds has committed to MSU-Mankato
- David Carle is obviously the brother of Matt Carle who was a star at Denver and now is probably the clear cut best rookie defenseman in the NHL (plays for San Jose Sharks).
- Derek Stepan has committed to Wisconsin. Played for Hastings last year.
- David Toews is brother of Jonathon Toews. Probably will head to UND like his brother.
- Brock Montpetit has committed to Wisconsin.
- Jordan Murray has committed to Wisconsin. Brother went to UND and dad coached the LA Kings.
- Stepan Novotny, Peter Lampado, Eli Zuck are all getting D1 looks.
- Ben Blood is the highest rated player on this team that is draft elgible. Rated in the "A" category I believe. Has committed to North Dakota.
It is worth noting that Murray, Montpetit, and Stepan all are on the first line and all three of them have committed to Wisconsin as 11th graders.
This team does not quite have the talent that some of their past teams have had, yet AHA does not either. Either way you put it though, were probably watching about 10 D1 players on the ice in this game and it should be an enjoyable one for those who love talented high school hockey.
For all those lucky enough to go, enjoy the game!!!

I will be at the game to watch both of these teams play. Just to watch the speed of these 2 teams is incredable. This will be a fun game to watch and worth the $6.00 admission.

I agree - this should be one of the most entertaining games of the season to watch. It's unfortunate that it's not held at a site that could accomodate more people (that's not meant as a knock on the beautiful Richfield Arena ).

I'm locking this thread. I think I said something about people bringing the R word out in other topics. Time for the bans to commence because we're sick of it and apparently English isn't the strong suit for some. Too bad.
