I am a bit surprised that Marshall beat Waseca 5-3 on Saturday, in Marshall. Marshall looked pretty bad the last time that I saw them play. Hopefully, they do pull it together for the final stretch of the season.
Another surprise is that Fairmont won a game, beating Wadena-Deer Creek 2-1. That is only their 3rd win of the season, so GOOD FOR THEM!!

Pretty dead around here.
Luverne playing Worthington tonight, lets see how many goals they can put up tonight.
Hutch has a rematch with Delano tonight, who beat them 5-0 in Delano earlier in the year. Wonder who will start in net for Hutch.
Litchfield plays HF, we'll see how much Litch has improved over the course of the year and can keep it close with HF.
Willmar has Sartell on the docket tonight, who beat them 7-0 earlier in the year and is one of the top teams in 6A.
New Ulm has Windom, who've they've already pumped once this year.
last but not least, Marshall has Morris, with a decent bus ride ahead of them.

I would say Morris can Roll with Marshall, and I dont count out Windom...

The unfortunate truth is that the results of these blowouts are simply a product of decisions made by adults sitting on Association Boards. I hope these ugly results can prove to be a motivator for programs in the South that need to adjust their policies to better suit their programs.
Nothing would impress the state of hockey more than having one of the teams projected to struggle beat one of the teams projected to shine! Good luck to all of the Conference, and the rest of Section 3A!

it wasn't so much as Sartell running up the score as it was them scoring on what seemed like every shot on net. They played the 4th line in both the second and third periods

Would it have been more respectful to play a passing game in the defensive zone? Not allow the Cardinals to cross the red line after the first period?
Could of had the students chant "Ole" with each completed pass.
Would you have preferred that gopher fan?

What I would prefer is what I saw classy Greg Trebil
coached Holy Angels teams do many times. They would get their 7,8,9 goal lead and then start to dump the puck in the offensive zone, one man forecheck, let the team break it out, trap them in neutral ice and dump it in again. Never did a Greg Trebil coached team run the score up or embarrass some of the less skilled Missota Conference teams in the early to mid 2000's by putting up 20 goals. Maybe the mighty Cards were just trying to avenge the Luverene Squirt teams loss to Worthungtin earlier in the year.

Maybe if Luverne would stop after they build... lets say a 9 goal lead, and get some live repetition work on Neutral zone systems, defensive zone, and a trapping forecheck maybe they wouldn't lose to teams like St. Paul Johnson.
With 3 to 5 division 1 players on their team (allegedly) you should be able to compete with the top of class A in MN. All you need to do is have lines 2 and 3 play half way decent positional hockey and buy into playing good defense.
Its possible that a trapping forecheck might even be too much for worthington to handle. So be it. You might win 16-0 rather than 20-1.
I'm not sure what took place in the game but I honestly wouldnt be surprised if Luverne rolled 4 lines all game and still won 20-1. I dont have a problem with the score necessarilly, but when it comes to crunch time and Luverne's lines 2 and 3 cant keep a puck out of their own net... its their own fault.

But that would take actual coaching which Luverne lacks. Classless and Clueless nice coaching style!
Luverne has a great deal of talent but the leadership is lacking not the kids faults

Here is what could possibly happen to help these weaker clubs out. So we would give them a handicap...
So Worthington would of started the game out a plus 17...
Then the 19th and 20th goal wouldn't of been such a big deal?!
MSHL it might really perk these games in the STATE of Hockey!!
