There is an interesting game this evening in Plymouth.
New Ulm heads up to play Providence Academy.
I think New Ulm can use their forecheck and get some pressure on Providence. If NU can finish their chances, they should win. It could be a good win for 3A.
This is another common opponent between Luverne and New Ulm. However, Luverne will play them after the seedings are most likely determined.

Expectations for Providence were pretty high to start the season, but they have some very puzzling performances. Losing to River Lakes and Squeaking by Minneapolis are at the top of that list.
Providence hung with Breck 4-2 and beat Minnehaha academy by the same margin as New Ulm.

Marshall looks to be on its way to locking up the 5 seed.
Currently lead LDC 3 to 1.
Freshman Dylan Criquet-Danielson with the hat trick so far.

When I looked at the schedule today, it said that this game had been postponed. Great for Dylan C-D!

I just got back from this game. Willmar led 2-1 at the end of period 1 but Sauk Rapids/Rice was the more aggressive in periods 2 and 3. Willmar doesn't seem to know how to use their point men more effectively. They are too slow in kicking the puck out to them when all five SR/R players collapsed into the corners or in front of the net.

Final
Marshall 7
LDC 1
Tigers 5th win in a row since losing to Luverne to begin the month. Showed they can score tonight. I wouldnt count the defending Section 3A Champs out yet.
Should be your #5 Seed

Now thats a statement for Marshall! Thats on the same Level Luverne beat Litch.
New Ulm Barely squeaked by litch.
Like to hear more of a "report" on this one.
I can see from the hub (if accurate) Marshall was 5/5 on powerplays. Thats a heck of a special teams run.
Litch outshot Marshall by a few.
I'm stunned.

Hey Trout, lets hear the report from the 8-2 New Ulm walloping over Providence!
Nice win for 3A!
Expected a closer game.
New Ulm must REALLY be coming on REALLY tough!

Providence is very up and down and also very young. Got hammered in their own rink by New Ulm/Sleepy Eye this afternoon.
Good win for 3A good rebound for the Eagles.
Teams in this Section are very up and down but have proven more capable then in previous years of going outside the section and getting good wins.
Good for 3A. We need all programs to keep getting better makes for a better Section!

Anyone want to give me a shot at their 2/3 way through the season "All Section" team?
Might be fun

Morris Benson picking up another win tonight.
Beat the Trojans, hung 6 up on em.
They are looking ready for Luverne to come rolling up.
TRAP GAME!

notTONIGHT, at least Trout gives biased reports, most of us can sift it without starting a new thread, you just put biased worms on your line hoping someone will bite. Take a page out of Trout's book, you bite every time. Bet all you geniuses can't predict what really happens in the section tournament, but hey they don't pay you to be right, they pay you to entertain.

Busy Saturday in Section 3A
Section 3A Scores
Orono 5 Hutch 2- Orono beat Hutch by double digits earlier this year. Hutch though they lost all 3 games this week showed signs by competing with top end teams.
Marshall 9 Fairmont 0- The Tigers rolled into their 6th straight win. Hottest team in 3A. Very Dangerous!
Waseca 11 Worthington 2- Worthington due to sickness was down to 7 skaters after getting home at around 2 AM then had to be up early for a bus trip to Waseca. Trojans had no legs!
Mound Westonka 5 LDC 0- Rough week for the Dragons after showing signs of improvement.
Luverne 10 Morris/Benson 4- This game was tied 3-3 after One Period ?!?!? Yuck. Storm have to take the game as a victory for that fact alone. Luverne not a good sign
Chaska 6 NU/SE 4- Eagles blew a nice lead at home. Not good. Hutch handled this Chaska team earlier this year. The Up and Down Eagles continue to be Inconsistent!

Marshall is the hottest team is section 3A? Four out of their last five wins came against Worthington 4-3, Morris 4-1(how does Luverne's 10-4 win look bad), redwood valley 6-1, Litchfield 7-1 which was a very nice win, and a 9-0 win against Fairmont. They are NOT the hottest team in 3A. Maybe a team that is undefeated is the hottest team in the section?

Just a one person's perspective....
Marshall has Won 6 in a row for a team that was playing solid Defense but struggling with offense they scored 16 goals in the last 2 games. They are getting better as the season goes on. Yes as of now they are the Hottest team not saying the BEST but right now they are on a roll.
Again its just an outsiders point of view.
It all comes down to Playoffs. Win 3 games when it counts. Marshall is on record as the last team to do that in this Section. In my mind they remain the champion until they are beaten when it counts... Playoffs

Define Outsider, and how you qualify as one.
Thanks

Well, it looks as if the rivalry is rescheduled to tomorrow night! Willmar hosts Litchfield, will be interesting to see how this one plays out, Litchfield is coming off a spanking from Marshall. I'm going to take Willmar 5-2, hard to predict the score of a rivalry game.
