Congrats AL, you are the greatest. Your top two players are KH and #5. Sounds like KH had a good game. You are the team to beat. State goes through AL.
Mayo 5 Fairbault 1.

The only roster I've seen for Red Wing shows 10 skaters--one senior, Alleva (soph), and then the rest are freshmen and 7th and 8th graders. I'm pretty sure Red Wing doesn't have a U14 team, and even the U12 is short players. In other words, there's no help on the way. I'd think in her place moving on might be the only option....like the T'Breds? I can't believe playing D on a team like this and being the 'everything' is good for her development as a player. Is there any guarantee there will even be a varsity program in the future at Red Wing? Is there any talk of co-oping? This doesn't resemble the Laura May situation where she chose to stay with her friends to play for a smaller school. Mahtomedi had a full roster and was very competetive and has a 'vibrant' youth program--this year they have a U14A team. Any thoughts from anyone familiar with the situation?
Maybe you should ask her.
She certainly will NOT be playing hockey in the NHL someday.
Sometimes we forget that fact.

UPCOMING GAMES
Tuesday 11/27
Austin @ Owatonna
Mayo @ AL
East @ Faribo
Thursday 11/29
AL @ East
New Prague @ Northfield
Faribo @ Austin
It looks like there should be some pretty good games next week. Any thoughts and/or predictions?
-That Austin vs. Owatonna game should be a good one, Owatonna is kind of a sleeper in the Big 9.
-East is East, those should be some gimme games.
-I don't think AL have EVER beat Mayo.
-Faribo @ Austin will either bring them out of the woodwork or send them crawling away (posters that is)

-Not that it matters, but that NFLD vs. NP game should tell us a bit about New Prague and who just might come out of Section 2A (West or NP)

I probably gonna catch "heck" for being a "glass half empty" guy, but if we get close to beating or even beat Mayo next Tuesday, I will start believing it myself.
PS-Sorry to hear about your loss last nite, but the score indicates you played with them, and never gave up...

Yeah, you're right. They're just girls after all. I guess some people like me take excellence in sports too seriously...they're just silly girls playing silly games and they should be allowed to just have fun. Never mind the thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours an elite player's family spends on hockey and the thousands more dollars and hundreds of hours to come. Never mind that the experience she has now will directly affect the number of choices she has for the school and town where she spends four years of her life in college and the friends she makes for a lifetime. Never mind she has a real shot (a good shot I hear) to play for a USA national team someday. She's just a girl, and girls just wanna have fun.

Good points.
I certainly wasn't trying to be condescending.
If you took it that way, I'm sorry.
It's probably mor like spending 1000's of $ AND 1000's of hours

It was nice to see the AL team skate together during OT. Amazing when a game goes into OT is when real team work comes in to place. How did you fell aobut the game tigertime?

We are great. I was disappointed with our 3rd period, but we finished with a win. KH played well just not perfect.

i was really proud of our team...we were winning 5 to 3 with 1 minute left and they scored...then with 17 seconds left there was a slap shot from the blue line (which i should have definatly saved...but didn't

i was very angry with myself) After they tied it up all i could do was try to save the rest....i'm proud of my team for not getting down, and scoring.
p.s. there is no such thing as perfect, and no one said that i did perfectly........even when i get a shut out i still think about how i could have done better. There are always regrets....
and tigertime why do you always talk about me? Why don't you talk about our team as a whole, or yourself (or your daughter?). I'm not the team...

I played very well, along with the rest of the team. KH you have to play well for us to win and sometimes you just don't care. You play better mad i prefer you that way. #5 can only save you so many times.

Falcon.
I got to watch part of your Mayo game. What's your number? The score was no indication of the caliber of Faribault's game. Murphy is a very good goalie and there are never any soft goals scored on her. The Faribault 9th graders looked very good and that bodes well for the Falcons future. I did have to chuckle at the blatant interference that Fariabault gets away with. Obviously those 2 young refs don't understand the rules enforcement initiative. A couple of your D like to weave in front of the forechecker like a NASCAR blocking system.
Hey, what happened to North's big shot. I didn't see her rip a single puck. Salmonsen is always in good position. I see her dad is on the HS bench now. Is he the only coach in Faribault? I suspect he coaches their younger daughter too.

I don't play better mad at all...i play badly when i am worked up....I do care how our team does, and i do my best in games....Why don't you talk to me in person if you have such a big problem with me...stop with your petty posts on this forum....

TT--you are clearly NOT an AL Tiger because a teammate would not try to undermine another member of the TEAM...I don't know where you are from!!
The AL Tigers are smart enough to realize that an 87%-90% save average is not too bad.
The AL Tigers also know that to ALLOW 41 shots on goal in one agame is NOT good...

Can you feel the love in AL?
One big happy family. You are just lucky you have so much talent. Any other team would implode with that love. KH, you can't be loved by everyone, or you would be me.........

However; your teammates should love you. We would show you love in Faribault. I think I will change my name to the Peace, Love, and happiness. I wonder if Austin's previous #5 would give that to me.
Faribault's best, lies in the future, and that could still be this year.

Rocket, Check out this picture and article. I figure you will get a kick out of it being you know KT.
Austin may not be the best team, but the kids sure are seeming to have fun. It is not often, that kids with this large of an age gap, enjoy each other. I hope that this article and photo may change the current tempo of our thread.
I hope I did not embarass my daughter. But then again, as I always say,
Live life, love life, and laugh at yourself. If you can't laugh at yourself, Laugh at your dad. The young ladies of section 1A should really be laughing now.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Section 1A is the greatest.

Falcons, by all means, take the name

glad to see you embracing the optimistic side of life. i hope you won't object to me wishing you luck this year and in following years.
thanks a lot for the link, jetjock. i couldn't be prouder of our girls. tell them i love them and miss them.
something i learned in moving away to college, moving away from my team: winning is great, but i don't remember that. i don't miss the winning. i miss the family. i guess you shouldn't take that kind of thing for granted, should you? but you don't need platitudes, so i'll shut up about that.
but can i give everyone a suggestion? watch the movie Mystery, Alaska.
peace, love, and happiness

go pack!

Jetjock, that picture is so typical of KT. Always smiling but wants to kick some tail when she's playing.
I didn't understand the part about you embarassing your daughter.

Taylor does not like me to draw attention to her, and that is not what I was trying to do. I just thought it was a interesting article about 7th graders playing varsity hockey and a great picture.

St. Cloud 7 or 8
Austin 1
Sauk rapids/sartell 4
Austin 3
Bray has lots of work with this young team. AL definitely has the most talent, experience, and probably the best goalie in the section. It would be big news to me, if AL doesn't dominate this. There will be a lot of questions asked if AL can not win this.

Sorry to hear those scores.
I haven't found any chickens to count around AL yet, though.

Ok, I'll be the "glass half full" guy. AL squeaks one out against Mayo this evening 4-3.
Owatonna over Austin (beware of Owatonna)
Faribo over East (maybe falcons will come out of hiding after a win)
