I really hate to say this, but there are actually some decent teams in Wisconsin (Eau Claire Memorial, Superior, Onalaska, etc...). I am not saying that La Crescent is going to win the section. All I am saying is that they may get overlooked by a team like Lourdes, especially since Lourdes has a coach that is barely older than his oldest senior on the JV there. La Crescnet scrimmaged Owatonna in the pre season and did quite well. Also did quite well versus Mound. A hot goalie and some good defense is key...just like the Giants Defense last night!!! Hooah!

I agree with rippentrop. La Crescent does have a weaker schedule but are still playing extremely well. They have a very tight defense and a offense that can put alot of goals in. I am not saying that they can beat the lourdes but they may be overlooked and might even be good for a upset in the playoffs. They should be a fun team to watch.

I predict that this lame section will be lose the first game at the state tournament and will get smoked on campus as long as they don't face the worthless section 3A

this is the only section with 5 teams ranked in the top 15 or 20. hmm i think this section has the most depth thats for sure. by going by that i dont think they will get smoked by any means and dont count them out of winning the first game.

Sure is alot of talk about Lacrescent. They are having a good year for their standards, but you can't forget about the contenders. I do not think they are a contender like the big 4 (Al, MW, RL, RW). The teams that could pull a legitamate upset are New Prague or Northfield. Those I feel are the teams you have to watch. I don't see Lacrescent winning, but I will be surprised if they get blown out, they should win their play-in game and be competitive in the qtrs. Still don't know what the story is on their coach quitting, seems like everone on the board from Lacrescent just quit writing in. Gotta be some cover up, there is no news about it anywhere. Anybody check their local paper?

Exactly! Then La Crescent should just stay in Wisconsin. If they are going to mainly play teams over there then thety should just stay there. As for the comment of a hot goalie and good defense is key...just like the Giants Defense. That is where you went partially wrong! The Giants defense was not even close to a hot goalie. The Giants were better than a hot goalie. half of la crescent games are played in wisconsin why do they even play in a Minnesota section. They are just another weak team to add to minnesota. I also seen them play in Owatonna they were terrible also it is a pointless game.

Top four seeds should start shaking out after the A.L./West game on Thursday.
Should be another very good game.

also it looks like nick wylam might be close to 100% back from his leg injury by sections. he's been doing some spot duty. that would be a big boost for their defensive core.

Yeah the Falcons continue to let me down.
I am looking forward to the AL/MW game on Thursday, those are the kind of games that makes Minnesota high school hockey so awesome.

Faribault got down 4-0 to Mayo then stromed back and nearly pulled it out falling 5-4, that would have been a real nice win for the Falcons.
The West/Century game is now huge on Tuesday night in Rochester. A West win locks up the Big Nine and a better seed than Albert Lea, a West loss and Albert Lea gets back in the hunt if they beat Mayo on Tuesday in Rochester.
