Well Silva ends up with 12 Mil a year, and our new GM is happy for him.

His ERA and Ks should get him in. Number of wins is important but its an individual award and the team you play with can have a lot to do with number of wins.

He had a HOF carreer IMO.

1093 days will pass and Bruce Sutter and Goose Gossage will be the only two admitted into the hall. I tell ya, The Hall really knows how to create a buzz about themselves. If a 1970's reliever can't captivate the attention of America, nobody can.

With guys like Bert and Rice consistantly being denied entrance, pretty soon it will be them and the steriod era boys on the ballot. I don't see anybody being inducted over the next 25 years.

It seems like some of these guys take it more serious than others about whether they get in.

That's a good question, nobody has self promoted themself for The Hall more than Ron Santo. His faction went so far as to make a documentary called 'This Old Cub' to help plead his case. Santo's case is quite nausiating as he continues to try get into the very beast that has said no time and time and time and time again.

I doubt Bert has done what Santo has done but it's apparent some of these guys don't like not getting picked when they've lived a life of being the star of the team.

Evidently, part of the details are that they've signed Morneau for 6 years $80 million, and Michael Cuddyer for 3 years $23 million.

Wonder what Johan thinks of this? Maybe the team isn't in complete rebuilding mode, and can contend for a while.

This is great news for the Twins, locking up Morneau for eight years and Cuddyer for three is a solid start at keeping their lineup intact. Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer, and Young is a pretty solid core to any lineup. If the Twins can bring in some good prospects with high ceilings in a deal for Johan they could be looking at being World Series contenders for years to come.
