CEC
Sat, Feb 8 1:00 PM vs. White Bear L
Tue, Feb 11 7:30 PM vs. Grand Rapids

DEast
Wed, Feb 5 7:00 PM vs. Brainerd
Fri, Feb 7 7:00 PM vs. Maple Grove
Sat, Feb 8 2:00 PM at Champlin Park
Mon, Feb 10 5:00 PM at Eagan
Tue, Feb 11 7:00 PM at Superior

CEC will likely lose both.
12-12-1 final record

DEast could lose 3
assume they lose 2
11-12-1

current QRF difference is 4.6
projected tie breaker 6.3
Deast realistically needs to win 4 games of the 5 which is not impossible.

I totally agree. Cloquet likely will lose both and East will roll through their final 5 games. Randolph and his kiddos are locked and loaded. The rubber game between these 2 should be fascinating. Shea Walters dueling Mike Randolph when it counts. 👍

CEC's #7 needs to play like the goal scorer he is...not a grinder / goon and try to prove he's a "tough guy". The kid has talent, he can shoot and score. He needs to focus on that or one of the coaches needs to sit him down and tell him that. Taking the dumb penalties isn't helping.

For 2 concecutive years, 2011/2013, CEC had three 50+ point scorers, and we did nothing with that talent. To be honest, I am not impressed by the 50 point scorers. I want to win. Not win every game. But win the next one. I’m a fan of the pucksters in purple. All of them. Not just the 50 point scorers. I want my team to win so bad. I guess the individual stats don’t matter if the team isn’t winning. 50 point scorers come and go. A winning culture never leaves.

If your measuring stick is Hermantown or East, it will never arrive. This teams win more than they lose and with less talent, routinely, than most that play AA. I think we hover between # 20 and #30 in AA most years. That quite the accomplishment for lack of talent most AA have. I’m very proud of the kids in this program since I arrived and got to know all of em. 👍

Almost, the FL-DM game went to OT with a 3-2 FL win. Shots were 51-19 in favor of FL.

With everything going on it seems the wheels again have fallen of the bus for cloquet at the wrong time. They Are on the verge
of losing every remaining game including playoffs, and Cloquet has had some very good respectable teams the past few years and CEC didn’t even get a sniff at the section championship game let alone the state tournament. CEC needs to somehow put a decent season together to build on as a program, I just don’t see that happening anytime soon anymore.

The current juniors, seniors, and the seniors from last year. I always said that I will never, in my lifetime, see a more collection of talent for 3 consecutive birth years of pucksters in the purple sweater. Watch and filming them in youth hockey was as good as it gets for me. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen last year. And, unfortunately it won’t happen this year or next year. Now, they could do it, but I just don’t think so. It’s just not the right time. It doesn’t feel right. Maybe when the current peewee and bantam kids are 9-12th grade.

It’s not about overall talent and being the better team on paper in Cloquet, Esko, and Carlton. We just don’t pump out the top end talent like East, Rapids, and Hermantown. We don’t reload here.....we wait patiently. We will compete as best we can, regardless. I’m a huge fan of my purple pucksters and family. Just because. Love at first sight. I just though everything about Lumberjack hockey was so awesome. I didn’t check to see how many wins they had before I fell. I just fell. And hard. And sure I doubt at times. I’m an imperfect diehard. But will I ever be surprised if they succeed? Nope 👍

Too bad about the free fall of CEC another year of talent down the drain. Little late in the season to mend fences but hope they can figure some stuff out quickly.

Did the Galatz kid start out in the Rapids youth program? If so, an interesting what could have been scenario.

No he is from Hibbing I believe his dad still works at mintac, sometimes you just wonder what could have been if he would have went down 169 instead that’s the horse this Rapids team is missing a natural goal scorer.

Christian is a nice kiddo. I met him with Mason and the boys when he first arrived in Cloquet. I drilled him with hard questions too. And I was very impressed with his answers. He’s got a bright future. I couldn’t be more happy for him too 👍

I am not, and will never be a soft fan of these kids. If they can’t handle me than they can’t handle the game. 🤓

The goalie already defunct, maybe Galatz will be next. The pasture is very green to the west.

I fully don’t expect him back with my Lumberjacks next year. Lots of options for Christian...

That would awesome. Galatz-Allison-Lund would be a very potent line, and Hibbing could push Denfeld for the #2 spot in 7A next year.

Come on home, kid! :D

Very entertaining game. Both teams played fast. Rapids continues to play good defensively and getting great goaltending.
Concerned about DelGreco. Didn’t look good when he left the ice after he got pounded into the end boards. Did not return to the play. Already without Bischoff and Goering.

It’s very concerning about delgreco but Rapids won without him the rumors I am hearing is Bischoff is gonna be back by Hermantown game is what I have heard but that’s just talk. Hopefully both players come back for playoffs then realistically Rapids Can only get better.

I have heard Bischoff will be back soon. Losing DelGreco would hurt. He's been the spark plug lately. Thought they finally had the top line figured out after the Wayzata game but injuries keep piling up! Jeez

Grand Rapids and Duluth East hitting full stride as the playoffs approach. Cloquet needs to figure things out fast. They can do it. Either way, they will probably be heading to Duluth for a quarterfinal match with the Greyhounds.

Yep, anyone who penciled Andover to state needs to take a deep breath. Rapids/East/Cloquet could take them out. The Huskies get upset over the bus ride..,
