Twins claim LH reliever Craig Breslow off waivers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Minnesota Twins claimed left-handed reliever Craig Breslow off waivers, a week after he was let go by the Cleveland Indians.

Breslow posted a 3.24 ERA in seven appearances for the Indians, allowing 10 hits and five walks with seven strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings. The Indians let him go when closer Joe Borowski came off the disabled list on May 23.

Breslow was expected to join the team before Friday's game against the New York Yankees. It's his fourth team in four years.

Right-hander Pat Neshek, who is probably out for the season with an elbow injury, was transferred to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster.

The 27-year-old Breslow graduated from Yale with a degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. He split time with the Boston Red Sox and their Triple-A team the last two seasons.

ChrisK's idol Slow-Like-Radke pitched a masterful game last night. Of course it was just KC but he was on the corners all night.

Another tester coming up this weekend with the Yanks - a team they should beat. They completed a nice road trip, then come back to face Mussina (notorious Twin killer), Wang (developing into a Twin killer), and this Rasner guy who's throwing very well... and Boof is twirling on Saturday.

Look, I ain't sayin'... I'm just sayin'...

I didn't think I would ever say this but when Punto gets healthy, put him at 3rd and say goodbye to Lamb and make room for younger players to stay and develop.

I thought the guys they picked up this year would be better than in the past but its the same old crap.

If all you are going to do is sign one stiff after another on the cheap, forget about it and play your own guys.

Keep Casilla up here, bring Span up when he heals, bring up Buscher and forget about the scrap heap free agents. Do what you do well and signing free agents isnt what they do well. Give it up.

Cuddyer & Mauer are growing beards until they put one over the wall.

As long as the Twins are in contention they need Lamb, cripes he's 3rd on the team in RBI. Punto is 31 Lamb is 33, neither are young so what's the difference other than Lamb is a better batter, Punto a better fielder? If Punto was younger I could see your argument but Punto was bad last year and aside from 1 year is a terrible batter. This team needs to score to win, their bullpen is weak and their fielding is as bad as I can remember in 30 years. I don't see where Punto helps other than as a defensive sub.

Punto could probably come close to Lambs offensive numbers and play a slick 3b.

But thats not a testament to Punto as much as it is a reflection of what a poor job they do of signing free agents.

Why bother if Mike Lamb is the best you can do?

I am not hinting I am jsut sayin: If Lamb is all you can do, forget it and go with the guys you have.

I'm thinking Frank Thomas.

Keep Lamb, he's batting .444 with RISP. Gets the hits when it matters. And his D isn't that bad, he can hold his own at the hot corner.

A few weeks ago I was bored with the season. I didn't necessarily demand wins but I wanted runs, late inning lead changes, and some overall sizzle. The Twins have listened and responded with 6-5, 7-6, 9-8, 9-4, 9-8, 7-6, and 7-6 contests. Sure, the Twins setup men have been a little iffy at times but Nathan has been solid and the bats have actually had some late inning heroics.

Plus three on six three

It has been exciting and very different.

The hitting has been good and the pitching not so much.

But the timing has been right on.

But it wont last. The pitching has to get better or they will fade.

Is Justin Morneau a hitter or what?

i really wish the twins would have given up on rincon and gotten rid of him...
