The Sox will be gunning for their 3rd straight loss early this afternoon. The spacious acreage of Comerica has reduced the Sox to one solo shot in two nights. If someone can turn of the CWS HR tap, the gap can be closed.
Keep choppin', time is still on your side.

If they would have let that game slip away, it could have gotten real ugly.
This pitch count stuff has always bugged me but it wasnt so bad because the Twins had a great bullpen and it didnt matter if the starters got pulled.
Last night Blackburn was doing great. 2 runs in 6 innings vs Cleveland is fine by any standards. But wait a minute...he threw 96 pitches so we cant have him out there in the 7th.
You are on a 6 game boofin losing streak and your bullpen is leaking like a sieve and you take out your starter who has shut them down for 6 inninings because he threw 96 pitches and give the ball to Boof boofin Bonser.
FUBAR!
Anyways, if they are going to get back into it, they will need more than a few chops with a hatchet ---they will need this guy to swing the axe:

The Sox have fallen and the DET sweep is complete.
Grind, grind, grind.......Paul is sharpening his tool.
My favorite team is the Twins and whoever is playing the Sox.

We'll have to wait another year to attain that magical plateau of 34-34, so be it. In all honesty 34-34, been there done that, maybe it will be 35-35 this time or perhaps 50-50 will become that launch pad to greatness.
Bring on the NL and let Livantana swing a stick.

from the looks of it at this point, .500 may be just what it takes to win this division.

The Twins are making hay and Kubel is playing like an All-Star. The Tear is imminent.
Other news: Sidney Pontoon resigns with the Yankees.

One above "All Square' and sooner or later they'll be back there.
Unless:
1. Brian Butcher stays at third base
2. Justin Morneau hits 25 in the second half
3. Liriano contributes substantially
4. Mauer hits 10 HRs
5. Jason Kubel........oh come on, you gotta be kiddin me. Jason Boofin Kublel? It wont last.
Add more and discuss.

Add this to the the list
-Another good arm is found to get quality guys out in the 7th/8th innings. Maybe Liriano can fill the vacuum left by Neshek and 'good' Rincon.
-Cargorii gets his legs back and becomes the disruption he was in April, He has 18 swipes but is now 16 behind the leaders.
-Monroe can find a way to turnaround 5 slamdunk losses by hitting a big late inning HR.

Add this to the list also...
Nothing is going to happen until Shanty delivers "Thy Daily Thread".
Be it a "Tear", or "34-34", we're not talking thin books.

Rich Harden anyone? He'd be an arm that, when healthy, can be a #1 starter in the league if not a top 15 starter. Seems that he would come decently cheap because of the injury concerns, is he worth looking at for the Twins?

Souhan has an article in the Red Star today that basically calls for sweeping out the acquired talent and making room for the home grown kids.
I agree with him except that he thinks Span should play more and Young play less. We have to keep Young in the lineup and get him ABs.
I think maybe Span should be traded because there is no room for him barring injury.
