After watching both games at the DECC this weekend, this game Thurs. should be a great one... CEC will have to pick-up their pace in the 1st period, but if Rapids wants to win Jensen won't be able to give up 4 goals on 20 shots like he did against East.
Should be a packed house.

I also watched both games and in the CEC vs ER game CEC did play like crap and they will get stomped if they dont play better than that against GR. Tj is back but no matter what anyone says he isn't 100% and wont be for a while. So what if he is a decoy, CEC might as well use that to their advantage. As for Rapids they played a great game and did get a lot of shots on Leis and capitalized at crucial times. White and the whole team played good and as long as Jensen plays great and limits CEC's shots it'll be a very good game.
I hope and think cloquet will win and it will prob be by 1 in OT... and Knowing these teams the score should be low.............prob. 3-2 but i'd say tops 4-3...either way good luck to both teams, im sure either of them will rep. 7AA great.

If Tyler is on the ice as a decoy, Stejskal will blast him. And if he looks out for him and avoids him, Rendle will knock him good.

I'll take that action. I am going with my heart again because I am sort of getting sick of walking around in this flourescent orange paint. People are starting to think I am crazy.

Not quite yet or I will jinx them. I put a fresh coat on 80 minutes before each game because 1980 was the last time they won a championship. I thought you would know that.

JACKS

Healthy or not, Johnson hasn't had big games against GR. In the first meeting, Stejskal hit him so hard he looked like a new fawn walking across the ice. To his credit, he did come back and play. In the second meeting, he was simply shut down. GR has a knack for playing well when it matters. Hopefully that trend continues for 4 more games. With another solid effort and a little bit of puck luck, the orange and black will pull out another tight one. Sorry to the likes of Ellingson and Johnson, but bridesmaids again. The Patrick White Show will keep on heading south with a little help from his friends. Look for Stejskal, Jensen & Rendle to keep elevating their game. Indians 4 Lumberjacks 2.

This is a tough one to call. CEC earned the top spot with their performance over the season, but they are not 100%. Grand Rapids has some great talent and match-up well against CEC from a "size" stand-point, but Jensen can be shaky at times and needs to have a better game than the one he had against East. He allowed some soft goals in my opinion.
I will be pulling for either team at State, but I do not think either stands much of a chance. With the new seeding arrangement it will be tough for the "lower seeds". I think AHA, Edina and who ever comes out of Section 8 and 4 will be the top seeds (of course an upset here or there could change that in a hurry).
I am with some on this board that are praying that 7 and 8 do not meet in the first round. That will smell of conspiracy if you ask me. Apparently they are going to announce the seeding and draw the opposing teams "out-of-a-hat" in front of the media, so let's hope it remains on the up-and-up.
Either way, section 7 reps will have their work cut-out for them. GR looked great in the tourney last year and then got owned in the title game. I would rather they not made it at all.
Anyway, if we are picking winners here I will give it a go. I really think this is a tough one, but I think Ellingson will have a great game. He will allow 2 past him, both from White, but the Jacks will use some creativity on offense and take a close one 3-2.
TJ is "back", but did you notice how he avoided any contact from his team after he scored his goal? He is not going to be able to go all-out. This could be a bad thing. But this kid is tough and this is his last chance for a trip to the show. He may make the sacrifice just to get his team there.
See you at the game(s)!
BTW: in 7A - Hermantown 6, Hibbing-2.....2A Marshall-4, Cathederal-1

I'm with boblee if Johnsons out on the ice Big Joe Stejskal is gonna light him up! I look for White to put on a show hes insane when it comes playoff time. The G-Rock fanwagon will be there in full force so watch out Jacks its gonna be a rowdy one!

WOW! My bad! I meant section 3. Roseville, Hill-Murray or White Bear Lake.
I guess I look like an idiot.
Looking at section-4, maybe they should give that tourney spot to a more deserving team. Like the loser of the GR-CEC game!

This will be a dogfight. There is no definite edge to either team. Except Reid is the bset goalie in the state, but I mean, there is really no favorite. It is going to come down to who can do the little things right. At this point, I think Rapid's will win. TJ will not decoy the Thunderhawks well enough and they won't get tricket like the Elks. Either way it will be a great hockey game between two great programs.
