Yeah, I know. I just like being argumentative.

It's what this bored is all about. haha.
No one else from RW is really sick or injured that I know of.

Interesting. I guess people forgot to remind them to vote for the team that WILL win, not the team they WANT to win.

All season. I think he found out about mono recently. I'd like to point out that he wore his jersey on the bench Tuesday..
Wingers are up 21-20 in this poll. That sounds pretty good to me.

Cadets playing the role of the underdog? Something the defending champs haven't done in awhile.
Cadets 3-1

I am nervous to fully agree with you HS... A simple but very true statement.
STA is playing their best hockey of the season. The defense has tighten up dramatically with one of the top GA in the state. Scoring production is coming from 3 lines. There is not one team close with the State Tourney experience of STA and this experience will pay off in this section final. I will take STA 5-1 with SHG at 45-18. This anti-private sentiment will allow Hermantown the #1 seed, despite Hermantown's strength of schedule and non dominating OT win and the end of the season against RW.
Returning players with two-years of State Tourney experience.
JC Blaisdell, Anders Lee, Mark Havercamp, Jack Geiser, Jon Shriener
Returners from Last year Championship run.
Nick Larson, Rob Vanelli, Aaron Crandall, Tony Mergens, Connor Rooney, Mike Mullale,
STA will graduate
(3) Seniors this year: JC Blaisdell, Jack Geiser and Mike Mullale.
I agree with everyone that the program needs to opt up to AA. STA with the returning players and underclassmen in their system, they will certainly begin to wear out their welcome in class A.

Sadly, I also agree with you on the opting up. They missed it this year, which is good. They won 4 games three years ago. But now if they can keep this whole State thing alive, after 3 more Championships I could see them maybe wising up. I'd love to see them in 1AA, 2AA, or 4AA. 3AA would suck. But, one thing to keep in mind, that is whining on this board about what class they are in will never change a thing. If you are not aware, their swimming team has 6 of the last 7 Class A titles. (The year they didn't get it, they got 3rd and would've gotten 1st if it weren't for a split second DQ on a relay). Many of these years they have been the top team regardless of class, but yet they stay.
From what I know, I think they have a different view of the class system. Our 120 years rivals choose to treat it like a tier system and opt up in EVERY sports. Whereas, St Thomas chooses to treat it like a class system, and from what I know, take the class they are given in every sport. So, while opting up in two years seems good to many, I don't see if happening.

That game didn't go to overtime

What are the crowds like at the Class A tournament? I've only been for the first few years when there were maybe 3 or 4 thousand, then have stuck with AA since. My point is this... if the crowds at the X are getting bigger and bigger for Class A, and there's potential to have the small school tourney turn into a "big stage", I wouldn't move up. You get to play on TV regardless. However, if there are still only 3 or 4 thousand fans coming to the A tourney, I would opt up, even if it means playing stiffer competition in order to get to state. Maybe one out of the last three years STA would have made the big tourney, but man, it would be worth it to play in front of 18,000+ as part of Minnesota's biggest sporting event!
Oh yeah, I'm taking STA in overtime... 1-0!

Very good point. Also, very good reason to turn it into a true class system, instead of the semi-class, semi-tier system it is at the moment. Teams shouldn't be allowed to opt up.

Hey all, posting this message below on behalf of my wife

----
Hello,
I am a photographer from Red Wing, and this year I have started to dabble in some sports shooting.
It has worked out well since we follow the Wingers as much as we can! Just wanted to post the
link to my gallery from the games I shot this year. Sorry to butt in on this thread but I thought I would
put it here since some RW folks might be checking it...enjoy the pics, and thanks for the
great "photo-ops" guys!

Hope to have some of the STA game up soon as well.
Thanks for looking!

The waY STA is playing in there own end right now, and as good as Crandell has been the last 12 games Red wing will get beat 5-0 and have 12 shots all night. Can you say BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER. Season is over Wingers another great run with no results.

spytech - I like the pictures. Very nice.
hockey nut - I'll be waiting for you outside the locker room. You obviously blind and have no idea how big the rivalry is between these two teams. Its not going to be some easy game for STA. Red Wing was counting down to their game against them before football started. They were counting the days to this final since the buzzer sounded on that game. If you think they're going to take a 5-0 final, there's something seriously wrong with you.

I think STA can win 5-0, but Red Wing could also pull the upset. It depends on what Red Wing team shows up.
