Who is Castro? Is he one of the Stillwater transfers? The one you left of is Dave Bruchu though I don't know who I'd pull off your list to add him.

It's Casto and he's from Stillwater. Just transferred over this year as a Sophmore. Big kid that should do very well for Hill, although he's borderline varsity and may get more time on JV...

I am friends with both Bruchu and Casto they are both from stillwater. Bruchu went to hill last year and is an amazing athlete and he was Casto's D partern last year on the A bantams. Also Casto isn't really considered a transfer since stillwater still has middle school up until 9th grade so this would be considered his frist year at high school. Both them are good and Casto i think will make varisty Bruchu im not so sure about but forsure JV. also the Third stillwater player Faust, is a forward. predictions is they'll all make it besides Faust will be a JV player and get brought up.

Also people were talking about Jake brown..he goes to stillwater now. He left Hill because he got in trouble over the summer and Lech said he wouldn't play.

From my understanding of the rules, it doesn't matter if Stillwater's middle school includes ninth grade, MSHSL would still consider this a transfer. All transfers after the start of ninth grade fall under their rules.

If he initiated the transfer before the deadline last spring, or if he moved out of the Stillwater district, he's eligible.

If he initiated the transfer after the spring deadline, he can only play JV this year.

It was done and signed before the new rules went into effect. I know that for a fact...

There will need to be a lot of injuries before he gets called up. That forward lineup is was too deep, they won't be calling any up, unless it's an easy game like.......Tartan. I could see one of the others making it on Varsity, I know Casto has been working his butt of this summer.

If the boys stay healthy, humble & eligible, this could be a fun season.

Looks like a great team! I see two potential problems: 1) There's only one puck. If the Pioneers can avoid falling into the selfishness trap, they will be extremely good. 2) Looking down the road, Philippi has had two consecutive state tournaments in which he has played poorly. In light of these factors, I'd say H-M is definitely a top ten team, possibly a top five, but only an outside threat to win it all.

2.) I guess you could look at playing poorly in a state tourney as pretty good, if you consider he's still playing HS hockey and been to the X twice. :?
